jim macdonald and wife RitaRonald was my uncle, and a truly wonderful man. We shared a love for Iona Cape Breton, his birthplace . I will miss his frequent phone calls and his corny jokes. He would pass on stories of Iona from his use and it was truly enjoyable to listen to his stories from his youth. Sending condolences to his loving family and know that I loved him as you did. I will miss you and never forget. Jim and Rita
Peggy (MacNeil) MacKinnonRonald was a great fellow. He was a wonderful friend to my father, James RJ MacNeil from Iona and came to his funeral in Hamilton and was such a support yo us. He and Duncan Frank M were extremely helpful to Buddy MacNeil who was brought up at Stephen Dunns and also lived in Hamilton. I looked forward to hearing from Ronald every Christmas and his entertaining phone calls. He always had me in stitches laughing at his jokes. He kept his Gaelic throughout the years and often burst into a Gaelic ditty or two. I was concerned this year when I didn't hear from him. I taught school with Ruth MacDonald who is married to Charlie and we all live in Baddeck. It was Ruth who gave me the sad news of Ronald's death. I was shocked to hear it as Ronald never seemed to age and always had such a light joyful way about him. Years ago my mother knew Betty also. I loved Ronald and offer my sincere condolences to all his family. We prayed for Ronald in Iona church tonight. (St. Columba) Peggy MacKinnon
