Erica FitzsimmonsI am so sorry for your loss. There is much to appreciate about Stu and his life from what I knew of him. I worked with Stu in the mid 1990's during his time in the Comcentre and I have such fond memories of him. He was a lot of fun to work with and I was fortunate enough to get to see his wonderful qualities of caring, kindness, intelligence and that grand sense of humour. I would tease him about his time on the street just prior to working in the Comcentre, when he had been sometimes cranky to the dispatchers and others. We got to know him and he got to know us as we worked all day together in that tiny (by today's standard) Comcentre. We all benefitted greatly from his sharp mind and our days were definitely made brighter because of his amazing sense of humour. We would laugh about his former cranky behaviour and it truly just faded into the past. It was a good reminder to me to look beyond the words of someone working in a difficult and stressful job and realize there may be a very special person hidden beneath. Stu had a very good heart and was generous too. He would take care of us and even though I was his second choice of Gingrich's to take as his sidekick on a Timmies coffee run (my brother Al was his favourite), we still had lots of fun trying to cross the busy street with Stu using interesting driving techniques to accomplish this. I will never forget those days and I am very glad to have known him, even for the short time I did. Sincere condolences to family and friends. Erica Fitzsimmons (nee Gingrich)
