Stott, Steven ‘Craig’ Alan

June 2nd, 2021

It is with broken hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Steven Craig Alan Stott on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at the too-early age of 65. Craig passed away peacefully after a valiant battle with cancer. Beloved son of the late James Herbert and Olicia “Penny” Stott. Craig is survived by his loving wife and partner of 23 years, Sylvia Tourand; and his siblings: Jeffrey (Dayle), Darrell (Buffy), Michael (Melissa), Karen Chanady, and Nancy O’Brien. Also sadly missed by Sylvia’s family: Evelyn, Cheryl, Bill, and Laura; and dear friend of over 40 years, Jean Classic. He also leaves behind “Fred”, the latest in a long line of cherished cats. Craig was born in Goderich where he spent his younger years. He frequently revisited Goderich, as well as lived in Kitchener, Tillsonburg, and finally London, where he met and married Sylvia. Craig will be missed by his many customers and colleagues at Brian Finch Auto Group where he worked for many years. He was an avid golfer, he loved to travel with Sylvia, and exercised an unending sense of humour. A special thank you to the warm and caring staff at University Hospital for making his last days as comfortable as possible. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a small private family service will be held. The family welcomes friends to participate in the service via livestream.

Rose Cora PerryI first met "Craiger" (as he was affectionately known) almost 20 years ago when he helped me purchase and transform my humble first car into a show-stopping beast :) This past November, he once again went above and beyond with helping me become the proud owner of my dream car. While he was my and my family's go-to "car guy" because of his integrity, honesty and sincerity, he was also a dear family friend. I was and remain heartbroken to hear he lost his valiant fight against cancer. But his strength, positivity and perseverance throughout his struggle was apparent and inspiring. Craig will surely be missed but lovingly remembered for his wicked sense of humour, affinity for felines and just being an all around great guy. Sending you love up in the heavens buddy. RCP
Jug ManochaCraig, such a positive person, that always tried to get you to smile with his unique sense of humour (you learned to admire and look forward to it after a while). Over the years, he sold me many vans, cars and trucks, but it was not about the cars and the deals, but his genuine interest in the people and their families. Always, trying to get people to be happy. Many times, calling after hours or going that extra bit, to keep customers happy. I think it was more his personality that made me feel good to deal with him. A rare trait in the new online impersonal service. He loved his family and his golf friends and talked about them with an extra smile on his face. He always thought more about others in spite of what he was facing on his own. Calling clients between treatments! Anyways, Craig, I am glad to have known you and you will be missed by our family and I am sure by many of your friends. Our deepest thoughts to his friends and families.

Ernie ComerfordArriving in London in 2007, we first met Craig at the Finch Dealership. Over the next 13 years I considered Craig as a friend as well as a salesman. He was a supportive individual. I have told many friends to try and match the man for good will and support. Who else contacts you numerous times to ensure all correct. Who else send you cards on all occasions. Who else ALWAYS had time for even just a definite wave or quick word. If he spotted a customer in the waiting area he would make the trip over for greetings and handshakes RIP Buddy. You were the best I have ever dealt with. . My condolences to his entire family.
