Allan Michael Seppala

October 27, 1939 - January 17, 2022

During the evening of Monday, January 17th, 2022, Allan went to be with his Lord and Saviour in his 83rd year. Born October 27th, 1939 in Toronto, Ontario, the 3rd child of Mikko and Jenny (Josefina) Seppala both from Finland, Allan went on to become a Civil Engineer and married the love of his life – Lydia Justynski – a loving union for 56 years.

He will be greatly missed by Lydia and their children; his brothers Joe (Astrid), David (Gail); and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Elizabeth.

He was the fun-loving and gentle father of his four beloved children: Anita (Jeff), Richard (Cassandre), Victoria (Selvyn) and Erica. He was the proud grandfather to Caroline, Kurt and Isabelle, who have wonderful memories of laughing and visiting with their kind, energetic grandfather. Allan was blessed with Finnish Sisu.

He loved driving, playing the piano, bicycling, long walks, telling a good joke, the Toronto Blue Jays and his career with the MTO here in London, from where he retired in 1999. His true passion was his lifelong, unquestioning faith in Christ which he shared not only with his family and friends but with the everyday people he met while strolling at Masonville Mall or attending North Park Community Church.

Funeral service to be conducted on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, with visitation one hour prior. Cremation to follow. Registration will be required to attend as attendance numbers will be restricted.

Dear Lydia and family: please accept our prayers and comforting words as you mourn Allan's passing. May your good memories of life with Allan soften the sadness. We will always miss and remember his cheerful greetings. For your well-being, please take as long as is needed to mourn. We were in Palm Springs when he died. We saw his obituary in Friday's paper. I'm surprised we have not received an email from North Park. Has the church been notified? We haven't attended North Park since we moved to the south end in December, 2018. We go to Church In The Oaks now. Showers of blessing (Ezekiel 34:26b), Love, John and Louise

Many memories of Uncle Allen. Always the jokester. What stands out in my mind are the get togethers at Grandma and Grandpa Seppala’s house where uncle Al would entertain us children with flatulating jello. Much to the disdain of the adults. Rest In Peace.
