I worked with Ted at CP in Toronto. He was crusty, stogey smoker, crossword genius, great planner, good stort teller. I learnt lots from Ted. When he retired he nudged me to his job on days. He would often sit on my lap at shift change and give me a hug. Great memories. A bunch of us went to London to visit him, have lunch, tell dirty jokes and reminisce. A good time. He hugged us all as we we left. Thanks for the memories Ted.

Dear Lurene.... I want to pass on my sincere sympathy to you and your family, about the passing of Ted. It has been many years since I saw him - as a kind in Pickering. My Mom (Kate Lahay - nee Wansborough), passed away in 1973, and most recently - my sister, Betty-Jane last year. I always remember the MANY times as a kid growing up in Pickering, my Mom and I would meet Hal as he was waiting on the CPR siding for a train to pass. We saw him many times. What a great guy. And my Brother Jim who worked all HIS life with the CPR. And Uncle Rex, who always talked trains with me. I guess that I am the only one that did not work for the4 CPR! Never met my Grandfather who too- was a lifer with the CPR. I too have trains in my blood - always stop and talk to the engineers here in Ottawa. AND I spent many days as a kid with my brother Jim at Againcourt station. I hope that you are keeping well, and Betty Jane often passed on her comments about you and Ted. Love to you and the family. The Wansboroughs were so dedicated to the CPR and helping others. Kindest regards -- Rodney (Sandy) Lahay in Ottawa (613) 596-1593

Dear Lurene, Susan, Doug and families, I work at the City of Kitchener Senior Day Program that Ted attended for many years and have many fond memories of his stories, jokes and playing euchre with him in our program. He always showed interest and care about my life and family and for many years after he moved woukd still send me an email on my birthday, anniversary and daughter's birthdays. He spoke so highly of all of you and never seemed to let his challenges get him down. In fact, he worried more about the challenges he presented to you in caring for him. I just wanted to let you know that I will always hold dear my memories of Ted. Sincerely, Andrea Dunning
