George ‘Bud’ Wilkins

With ‘Moon’ and their dear friend Jean Walch by his side, on Friday, July 25th, 2014, at Victoria Hospital at the age of 80. Loved husband and partner for 52 years of Muriel ‘Moon’ Wilkins (née Mills). Survived by brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Jim and Marion Mills, of Stittsville, Mary Mills, of Ottawa and Rose Anne Wilkins, of Bowmanville, and by nephews and nieces Chad, Murray, Asya, Karyn and Lori. Will also be missed by Amber and by his grandnieces and grandnephews in the Ottawa area. Predeceased by his parents Elmer and Isabell Wilkins; his siblings Elmer Wilkins, Jr., Belva Hughes and Jane Singleton; and by his brothers-in-law Charles Mills, Edwin Hughes and Bernie Singleton. Bud was born in Toronto on July 13th, 1934 and he and Moon had resided in London since 1963. Bud was an active member of the Highland Country Club. The funeral service will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, on Wednesday, July 30th, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation two hours prior to the service. Cremation to follow with interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Bud are asked to consider the L.H.S.F. – Cancer Centre.

Bud, a friend, coach and mentor. Had a lasting impact on me and many others. A influence on parts of life that last forever. Bud and Moon are close friends with Shirley and me, we will miss him deeply.
