BRATT, Doreen Phyllis

February 26, 1924 – September 23, 2014

Peacefully in Kelowna, B.C. in her 91st year, while surrounded by the love of family and friends. Beloved wife of the late Wallace Hardy Bratt (1985). Loving mother of Steve and Michael, and mother-in-law to Gabrielle and Anita. Fondly remembered by grandchildren Meghan, Alex, Zach, Tiana, and Max. Beloved sister to Elizabeth (Babe) Chadwick (Toronto). Aunt to Tannis, George, Sam, Jeff and Duff and their families. Cherished friend and confidante to many. Predeceased by her parents Stan and Isabel Woods, sister Norma (Gus) Baker (2000) and niece Sarah (2006). A special thanks to Beth whose love and care for Daw made her final months so memorable. Doreen lived her life with unconditional love for family and friends, and compassion for those less fortunate. Gratitude was her daily mantra; light and levity, her persona. She found joy and peace in nature’s wonderment, revelled in life’s simple pleasures, and faced each personal challenge with loving acceptance. Long may her radiance continue to shine, in the hearts of all those whose lives she touched! The memorial service will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London. Those wishing to make a donation in Doreen’s memory are asked to consider the Central Okanagan Hospice Association, Canadian Cancer Society, or the London Regional Cancer Program.
