Following a courageous battle with cancer since 1995, Annette passed away peacefully at age 72 on Sunday December 28th at the palliative care unit at LHSC. Annette is survived by her loving husband Thomas in their 50th year of marriage; by her son Donald Purchase and daughter Brenda Sutton. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Samantha, Dylan and Kaitlyn. Annette will also be missed by brothers Aime and Donald and sisters Bella and Gemma, daughter to departed parents Laurent and Mariette. She was predeceased by brothers baby Mark, Mark and older brother Bertrand. Annette was known as an amazingly strong and caring person who took time for those in need. Anyone visiting her home knew her baking skills, especially the butter tarts and French tourtieres. Hobbies included crafts, gardening and spending time with family. Visitation will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, on Friday, January 9th from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, January 10th, 2015 from 10:00 –11:00 a.m. followed immediately by a short service in the chapel. A private interment will take place in the spring. It would be appreciated that donations or donations in lieu of flowers be made to the Ronald McDonald House in London.

Dear Tom, Donald and Brenda and family: We are so sorry to hear this sad news. Annette was one of the loveliest people I have known. When I lived with my parents across the street from Annette, I always enjoyed watching and learning her make new crafts and she always created wonderful things but best of all she always created an atmosphere of joy around her. Dear Tom & Family, extended family and dear close friends of Annette ! Our heartfelt sympathies & condolences on the loss of your dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister & friend. I knew Annette for a few short years but I feel like I knew her for ever. She was the most caring & loving woman I knew who always made me welcome as if I was one of her family. A splendid human being who went out of the way to help others. We will always remember her as our mother figure who helped us emotionally as we were struggling when we first came to London. Dear Tom and Family: Our sympathy goes out to all Annette's family. She was such a wonderful woman, a caring and strong woman. I can't believe she has fought this terrible disease for almost 20 yrs. That shows everyone what a strong lady she was. Annette will be missed, but please know that she is at rest now and is watching over all of you.
