Romney was always willing to pitch in where needed. He taught the students in Ramland about values and priorities, through his example. My thoughts and meditations are with his family, for renewed strength in this time of sorrow. May you rest in peace, with eternal happiness, Romney.

~ Adele Lasson

Romney was often the first face I'd see when scurrying into school. His warm smile and greeting was a wonderful way to start the day. He was always kind, helpful, and thoughtful. I wish there were adequate words to convey the sorrow and sympathy I feel for his family. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched at Laurier.

~ Bronwyn Powell

I knew Romney for only a year and half but he made a lasting impact on me with his kindness and generosity. He was always willing to bend the rules if it meant helping a student succeed in his course. The staff and students at Laurier will miss him a great deal. I will miss his comforting voice. My prayers are with his family. Rest in peach Romney!

Mr. Abel was a great man. He shared so many wise words with me that I will hold on to for as long as I live. Back in the day I was pretty hard headed, but he did what not many could do. He broke through my shell, helped me change my attitude for the better and we began to have a great relationship. He was the sweetest man who only had good intentions. He only wanted the best for every student and he did what he could to make sure of that. Rest in Peace Mr. Abel.

Romney and I worked together years ago before he became a teacher. He was part of the influence that inspired me to become a tech teacher myself. Romney and I reconnected again through teaching over the past several years. I am very appreciative of all the support he gave me and his belief and confidence in my teaching abilities. It was a pleasure to cover for him in his shop and work with his students. He was a great man and a gentleman who cared for his family and his students. I was privileged to learn from him and witness the difference he made in all of his student's lives. With great sadness I say goodbye my friend. You will be missed. My condolences to his wife his son and his family. Rest in peace.

I had Mr. Abel for Grade 10 Manufacturing Technology at Sir Wilfrid Laurier Secondary School. He was extremely kind to me, and was a fantastic teacher. He will truly be missed.

~ Ahmed Chams

He was a fantastic mentor and inspirational teacher. He truly believed in the success of every student and I think about all the life lessons I've learned in his Grade 11 Manufacturing Engineering class often in both post-secondary school and work. I am very fortunate to have been one of his students and will continue to pass along the life lessons he taught me. Rest in peace Mr. Abel.

Although I never had Mr.Abel as a teacher, I remember him well from back in my skipping class days..Saw him often on my ventures and ran from him even more often. Persistent on encouraging the students to learn and achieve and to..attend there scheduled courses. He was a delight and he will be missed dearly. My condolences go out to all who knew him on a personal level or even just had a class with him and were inspired by him. Rest In Paradise.

We are so sad to hear this news. We hope that God's strength can help the family at this very difficult time. We knew Scouter Romney as a very knowledgeable man with a funny sense of humour. Luke and Sally really enjoyed their first camp that he was at. They shared some fun stories about all the badges they each had on their camp blankets. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

So sorry Sue, Sam and all the rest of a wonderful family. I can remember good times with Romney on the way to Washington and Chicago and the great conversations we had sitting beside each other for hundreds of miles. We had many opportunities to get to know each other in the past. He was great man always willing to give of his time and talents to the benefit of others. He will truly be missed.
