The hot rod/automotive community is very tight, especially the ones of the boomer generation, which always makes it feel like a second family. As the child of a boomer hot rod guy (Jim Prowse), Wes was always friendly, warm and giving when I was with him. Our generation can certainly learn great things from that generation and community. Wes and Joan left permanent impressions upon my parents, based on the stories and love they shared about their time spent together. That, to me, is the lasting sign of a wonderful person, which Wes obviously was. I'm glad his pain is gone, but I'm also sad that my dad's best pal is gone. Wesley's passing is another reminder to enjoy today and love those people in your life because life is short. Wes - you will be missed and loved by many.
Joan, and Family, All the brothers of the Brantford Piston Pushers Car Club wish to extend our sincere condolences for the passing of Wes. At tonight's meeting we missed his usual story or two and were all moved by his absence. Look for strength from family in the days to come and God Bless.
Joan, and family sorry to hear the passing of Wes. I always remember his laugh and always a story or two to tell. The automotive collision family has lost a great one. Tom and Jennifer and the staff at Whitworth Towing
Dear Joan and family, We are saddened to hear that Wes has passed. He was always a happy and friendly person that took the time to talk with you when he was in your company. He was one of the few respected and reputable men in the auto body business and will be missed. Our condolences to you Joan and your family.
Our deepest condolences to you all at this difficult time. I used to bring my Dad (Bill Mailer) to meet with the boys for breakfast occasionally on Saturday mornings. Wes always made us feel welcome and had a big smile. My Dad, Bill, used to sign paint for Wes many years ago. From stories my Dad told, Wes was a good, honest man that was always kind. May you find comfort in the memories that you have and remember the good times. Thinking of you. My Mother Donna also sends her condolences to you.

We are deeply saddened by the news of Wes’s passing. Our heart felt condolences to you Joan and the boys. We will remember the good times, the guys walking the auto bone yard in the Arizona desert looking for parts for his projects, and the girls touring the London Bridge at Lake Havasu and then all of us sitting down at the restaurant for a great supper. As Helen Keller said "What we have once enjoyed, we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes part of us." We will all remember Wes for his friendship and good deeds.
Our sincere condolences to you and your family Joan. If you needed anything he was always there. If your lane was snowed in he was there with the plow. If your car was broken he was there. If you were in the hospital or nursing home he would be there Even after 12 hours of work he somehow managed to find time. If you were hungry he was there for them. Many will be so happy to see Wes when he gets to heaven. He was the BEST FRIEND ever. Bob and Linda Biddle

Joan, Wayne & Scott...I am so sorry to hear about Wes passing away. He was always like the "Ever Ready" Bunny...I never thought he would ever stop! He never missed an opportunity for a hug with those "Daddy long legs" arms!!! Wes was always there to do whatever was needed to get the job done. I have fond memories of many lunches and breakfasts at the "Green Lantern", many friends made through Wes; my old red Granada and I spent many, many hours with Wes, parties at the house, Saturday morning breakfast club! He had so very many friends - Bill Srigley, Gerry Green, Jim Prouse, Warren Stanfield, George Tusch...and lots with "nicknames'..haha I watched the boys grow up and Joan, above all, you were the best friend and wife he could ever have!! His memory will live on forever. Lots of love, Donna Thacker

We will surely miss that instant smile, that instant "what can I do to help you", that instant "sure you can wash your car in the wash bay:. We will miss the instant jokes, the good times that we all had together at the breakfast club and the coffee "liars club" and at the Belmont Retired Guys Body Shop, sitting in the sun mid afternoon with a coke.. He was one of the best bosses I ever had, one of the best friends and one of the best guys I have ever known. You will be missed. Say Hi to your friend and mine Peter Sheffield {C.I.L. Territory Executive} up there.
