Suddenly but peacefully, Irene Gilpin (née Chartrand), 82, passed away during the evening of Thursday, April 23rd, 2015. Her life continues through her family, son Paul Gilpin (Michelle) and daughters Rhonda Gilpin (Stephen) and Karen McNiven (Chris). She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Erynne, Emilee, Jake, Sarah and Katie. She found new joy with her two great-grandchildren, Anne and Liam. Irene is survived by her brother Ted Chartrand of The Pas, Manitoba. She is predeceased by her husband Reginald Gilpin as well as her siblings Alfie, Lou, Chris, Chic and Albert, and her infant sisters. She now has long awaited peace and rest in the presence of her Lord. A special thank you to the staff at Windermere on the Mount for the exceptional care they provided as well as St. Michael’s Parish for their ongoing support. Visitors will be received at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Monday from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m., with prayers at 3:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. MICHAEL’S PARISH, 511 Cheapside Street, London, on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Mt. Brydges. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Michael’s C.W.L. or Sisters of St. Joseph.

Paul, Rhonda, and Karen. I am so sorry to hear of Irene's passing. I have many great memories of her and your family growing up. Irene always lovingly welcomed me into your home and cared for me. I will always remember her sense of humour, her laugh, and how much she loved her family. Thinking of you all during this difficult time. XO Lizzy
