Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, July 17, 2015 after a hard fought battle, in his 76th year. Beloved husband of Elaine for 53 years. Cherished father of Craig and Lisa, Carrie and Dave Harrison, and Katie and Alex MacLeod. Treasured ‘Bumpy’ of Kyle, Scott, Shawn, Keely and Braeden. Predeceased by his parents, Homer and Gladys. Fondly remembered by his sisters-in-law Marlene and Judy (Gary), his extended family and many friends. Homer was a quiet, strong man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He was a long-time employee of the federal government and was actively involved in his children’s and grandchildren’s athletic pursuits. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the memorial service will be conducted on Monday, July 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Chris Beaumont officiating. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Homer are asked to consider Salthaven.

Homer was such a fantastic trouper. He had humour and such a positive nature through all his setbacks. Elaine is such a devoted partner and will miss him dearly. My condolences to you all.
Deepest sympathies from myself, Sacha, Mason and Gabby. My brother and I spent a week every summer with Homer and Elaine growing up. I always looked forward to that week, and watching and talking baseball/football with Homer. Even though we were a family of Blue Jays fans, Homer would put up with us! RIP and lets go Tribe!

Elaine, Craig, Carrie and Katie I was so sorry to learn of Homer's death. He was a wonderful man and I have many fond memories of him from our cruise together on the Star Princess all those years ago. May all your happy memories help you through this very difficult time.

I remember my God Father, Homer , when he helped me through a difficult time. Homer rescued my son and I from a tornado . What a gallant, humble man. Took us in to Elaine and Homers home. There , we were comforted, and felt safe. We will always remember him for his compassion, and caring. Homer always had a sparkle in his eye, wanting to do good which was successful in many ways. My condolences to Elaine , my God Mother, who I cherish deeply. Also to rest of family and the awesome children, that Homer and Elaine raised, with excellent guidance, and love. Our sincere condolences to Elaine,Craig,Lisa,Kyle,Carrie,Dave,Scott,Shawn,Katie,Alex,Keely and Braeden,in the loss of their beloved Homer AKABumpy. Only the distance beyween Sault Ste.Marie and London kept us from spending more time with Homer and Elaine and we shall dearly miss Homer and his quick wit and wonderful sense of humour.Homer was indeed a wonderful husband,father,grandfather,father-in-law and brother-in-law. He was such a gentle and kind human being and was admired greatly by his many friends and associates. Rest in peace Homer

Great guy! Great husband! Fantastic dad and grand dad! He will be missed by so many of us. His wit and sense of humour got him through some tough times. May Homer find peace. My deepest sympathy to his wonderful family.
