Eric Marshall McBain

Peacefully passed away with family by his side at University Hospital on Thursday, November 5, 2015. He was born on November 3, 1923, in Peterborough, Ontario. Predeceased by his wife Jean (née Kohl), and his brother Lawrence McBain. Dear brother-in-law of Eylene Martin (née Kohl). Eric was a beloved uncle and will be forever in the hearts of his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and special companion, Ruth Metcalfe, and her family. Eric served in the Navy from 1939-1945, then continued his career as an arc welder. The family will be forever grateful for the professional care and infinite acts of kindness by staff of the Medicine, Surgical, ICU and Palliative Teams at University Hospital. A special thank you to Eric’s family physician, Dr. R. Crabbe and his staff for the wonderful care they provided. Friends will be received on Sunday from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the funeral will be conducted in the chapel on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Eric are asked to consider the Alzheimer Society or Parkinson Society Canada.
