At University Hospital on Thursday, December 3, 2015, Helen Garner (née Huehn), of London, in her 91st year. Loving Mom of Shirley Griffith (the late Paul), of Strathroy. Dear sister of Marjorie Heathers (Don), of Ailsa Craig, Joan Sharrow (the late Bill), of Calgary, Burton Huehn (Ruth), of Kitchener, the late Ross Huehn (Nancy), of Richmond Hill, and the late Gloria South (the late Ernie), of Woodstock. Cherished Grandma of Don Griffith (Karen), of Kitchener, Debbie Bolton (Darrell), of Burleigh Falls, Ontario, and Shelley Clair (Jeff), of Poplar Hill. Also survived by her eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Helen was a proud part of Orr Cleaners in Byron, from 1952 until her retirement in October of 2014. Helen was equally proud of her work as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, for 30 years. The funeral service will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., with visitation starting at 12:00 Noon. Interment at Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg, Ontario, on Monday, December 7, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Helen are asked to consider St. Joseph’s Hospice of London.

Shirley your Mom was always at work first thing in the mornings when she likey would have not wanted to be anywhere but at the cleaner's looking for you two to be ready for lunch and shopping together you where her reason to be able to get out looking for gift's at this time of year for the whole family and looking for that special gift for you . You have my deepest sympathy Shirley. Your mom was one of a kind and certainly a great friend to my mom Phyllis who has since passed away 11 years ago. I enjoyed our lunches together and will miss her very much.

You have our deepest sympathy. Helen was a lovely lady. Since my mother, Mabel Podann died, some 20 years ago Helen always connected with me at Christmas. I will miss this relationship immensely. My deepest condolences Shirley & Family--I met your mom over 40 years ago -working at the bank in Byron -- even when the cleaners were located across the street where Canada Trust is now & taking our dry cleaning into Orr Cleaners & mom coming into bank as a customer -- she always had a smile on her face- sweetest personality- always so friendly-- she saw you coming up the steps & already had your clothes there for pickup--she truly was a great person & a special "Mom" Shirley--you two made a great team at work & knowing mom -- she enjoyed being at the counter meeting all the customers --good chit-chats -- I will miss her--my thoughts & prayers are with you. I am so sorry for the loss your Mom, who was also your close friend. Helen was a strong woman who took the challenge of owning her own business long before it was common practice for women to do so. She was always a polite lady and treated all the Orr customers as if they were special. My condolences to you Shirley and the entire family. She will be greatly missed.
