Suddenly, at Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington, on Wednesday, December 16, 2015, in his 86th year. Beloved husband of the late June (née McLeod, 1957) and the late Edna (née Braid, 2007). Loving father of Nancy Kendall (Bob) and Allan Cassidy. Missed by grandchildren Christopher (Kelly) and Stephanie (Michael); great-grandchildren Ethan, Kaylyn, Landon, Teagan and Rylan; brother Merv (Sharon); nephew Byron Grant (Ann). Predeceased by his sister, Isabelle Grant. Al was a long-time employee at Kellogg’s, where he built many friendships that he had long cherished throughout the years. Al was well-known in the fly fishing community. A memorial service will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION – VICTORY BRANCH, 311 Oakland Avenue, London. Private interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of London and Middlesex or the Parkinson Society.

Rest in peace "Uncle Scotty" I will always remember the smile that was always on your face. My condolences to all of Alvin's family and friends, he will be missed.
Our deepest sympathy in the passing of Al. He was a great neighbour and friend. He was also like a grandpa to our children Eric and Lorissa. He will truly be missed. I'm sure he will be doing a lot of fly fishing up there in Heaven. The Elson Family

My deepest sympathy to all family and Friends. Your loss of a kind ,caring, generous man that I will remember. He was the type of person that would do anything for anyone. Always full of happiness ,always joking around. It was a pleasure to know who I called my Uncle Alvin and all the great memories growing up he gave us. He will be deeply missed . Rest in peace
