John Martin

June 17, 2016

It is with great sadness that the family of John Martin announce his peaceful passing in his 89th year at home on Friday, June 17th.  He showed true courage and dignity until the end.  Beloved husband and best friend of his wife, Pat; loving father of Helen and David (Teresa); proud grandfather of Max, Alex and Sam.  John came to Canada in 1966 with Pat and baby Helen.  He joined Ford Motor Company, Talbotville, in 1967 and remained until his retirement in 1992.  The family would like to express their profound gratitude to the VON and ParaMed for the dedicated nursing care John received at home during the last weeks of his life.  Thank you for your constant awareness of his needs and your support of us all.  In accordance with his wishes, John’s body has been dedicated to science.  A Celebration of John’s Life will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, on Friday, June 24th, 2016 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m., with Words of Remembrance at 3:15 p.m.  Those wishing to make a donation in memory of John are asked to consider the LHSF Cardiology Department.
