Doris Lucille Dell
December 6, 2016
Passed away at Meadow Park Long Term Care Home in London on Tuesday, December 6th, 2016, at the age of 87. Doris is survived her by two sisters, Peggy Stewart of Sioux Lookout, ON, and Ila Milligan of Calgary, AB, as well as seven nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Verlyn Grover of Edmonton, AB. Born January 27, 1929, on a prairie homestead at Helmsdale, AB, Doris spent her early life in Alberta, working at various places until 1967 when she moved to London. She loved the big trees, beautiful spring and autumn seasons, and spent many hours walking in the parks. Doris enjoyed her relationships with colleagues and friends during her 29 years at Carlton Realty and ICORR Properties. After retirement, she spent three years in Calgary, AB, then moved back to London. Doris especially enjoyed studying her Bible and spending time with the Lord in prayer and worship. She made several trips to Israel and friends have arranged for trees to be planted there in her memory. The family is honouring her request that there be no funeral or memorial service after her passing. We would like to sincerely thank the staff at Meadow Park for caring for Doris these last six years and to Mark and Linda Brewster for their regular visits with her.
“For your Maker is your husband – the Lord Almighty is his name – the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer;
he is called the God of all the earth.” Isa. 54:5

We are very sorry to hear of the passing of Doris. My mother Irene Hayes was her room mate at Meadow Park nursing home. She and Doris arrived at the home about the same time and became immediate friends. Doris helped my mom with different things such as helping her put her slippers on. She was a good lady. Now she and mom can be friends again. Rest in piece Doris!
Had lost touch with Dear Doris over the years. Wished I had not. Doris and I worked together for a brief time in 1969 at Hollywood Cards of London. In November 1969 my dear husband of just 6 years passed away at age 29 following a brief illness. Doris spent the first night at my home when Dean was first in the hospital until my family arrived. He died 5 days later. We visited each other from time-to-time but lost touch. Keep close to good friends. We were of like precious faith. See you soon in Glory Doris.
