Surrounded by his family, at his residence in London, on Friday, January 20th, 2017, in his 70th year.  Cherished husband of Linda for 39 years.  Loved father of Mark Dennis (Jennie) and Katherine Dennis.  Much loved Grandpa of Piper-Kay Dennis.  Missed by his sisters Mary Van Strien (Martin), Pat Foster (Ed) and his brother Brian Dennis.  Survived by his brother-in-law David Gillman (Nat); his sister-in-law Jean Gillman; and his nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Margaret Dennis, and by his brother-in-law, Dr. Ross Gillman.  The funeral will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Wednesday, January 25th, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Cremation to follow.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Bill are asked to consider the Lung Association.

My deepest sympathies Linda and family. I worked very closely with Bill at GSU and as a young unionist looked up to him and have always considered him my Brother. Bill stood up for all members of GSU he lived and breathed Union and will be sorely missed by myself and many others. We always laughed together. Heaven has gained another angel who I know will be looking down and checking up on us, remember that he is not gone or forgotten he has simply moved into another dimension keeping us a spot for when we are ready to join him,

Dear Linda, Mark and Katherine please accept our condolences , I was very sorry to hear this news . I have fond memories of Uncle Bill at our far too few family gatherings typically at Christmas . He was always ready with an insightful comment to challenge Dad and had a great sense of humor. I still use to this day the various tools I received as presents . I know he will be missed and will be remembering you all in prayer. Love Mike , Betty , Anna Marie, Daniel and David
