Donald Cleve Hauser
August 19, 2017
On Saturday, August 19, 2017, passed away peacefully after attending his beloved car races with family and friends. His humour, love and kindness will be sadly missed by wife Nadine (Irvine), daughters Tracey (Craig) Hopkins, Tricia (Armin) Kaminski and grandchildren Paul, Kayla and Ryan Hopkins and Haley and Jakob Kaminski. Don is survived by sister Diane and her husband Michael from Niagara-on-the-Lake. He was predeceased by parents Cleveland Hauser and Patricia (Smith) Hauser. Don was a long time employee of what was then CFPL TV in the sales department. He enjoyed music and was a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society for over 40 years. In recent years he has enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s musical concerts. His circle of friends expanded when Harmony Woods Recreational Club, a campground for barbershop singers and their families and friends, was formed in 1989. Don was their treasurer for 27 years. Don was the ultimate “armchair athlete” – not missing too many broadcasts of baseball, football, hockey or NASCAR races on TV and attending as many of his grandchildren’s sporting events as possible. The family would like to share an afternoon of fellowship, song and celebration of Don’s life with the people he touched in his 78 years, at the Mocha Shrine Centre, 468 Colborne Street, London, on Sunday, September 24, 2017 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Harmonize for Speech or charity of your choice would be appreciated. Don’s family wish to express their appreciation to EMS staff and the staff at Westview Funeral Chapel for their kind assistance.
