Unexpectedly on Friday, November 10th, 2017, as the result of an accident in Middlesex Centre, at the age of 30. Beloved husband and best friend of Julie Derks. Loving father of Logan and Bryson. Cherished son of Marietta (née Vandenberg) and Albert Derks. Treasured son-in-law of Ted and Teresa Brown. Loving brother of Cassandra (Robert) McFalls, Amanda Derks (Brandon Mohun), and predeceased by his sister Jennifer. Brother-in-law of Mike Brown and Brian (Ania) Brown. Devoted grandson of Mary and Gerry Derks. Jason was an amazing friend to many and will truly be missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Jason adored his wife and children, and was also proud to serve as a volunteer firefighter with the Coldstream Fire Department. Visitation will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Wednesday from 1:00 – 3:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at HOLY FAMILY PARISH, 777 Valetta Street, London on Thursday, November 16th, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Interment at All Saints Roman Catholic Cemetery, Strathroy. Donations in Jason’s memory will be gratefully acknowledged.

Al Derks has been my childhood friend since birth. He was one of my wedding ushers 36 years ago. My heart had been broken today when one of our children has died before us.
