Colin Angus Chisholm
December 29, 2017
Died unexpectedly at University Hospital on Friday, December 29, 2017. Colin was born February 14, 1942 in Kirkland Lake. As a young man, he spent 3 years in the RCN and attended schools in Toronto, North Bay and Kirkland Lake, as well as Laurentian University in Sudbury. He lived in several cities before settling in London in 1983 where he was employed by the London Board of Education. After retirement from the Board in 1998, Colin and Wendy pursued a short and sometimes hilarious career running a B&B in Annapolis Royal, N.S. Colin was the loved and loving father of Mary Dixon (Sheldon), Colin (Cindy) Chisholm and Katherine Feiel (Markus) and was the devoted Poppa of Will, Zoe and Maeve Dixon, Isaac and Allison Chisholm and Aedan, Gavin and Seth Feiel. He was the loved and respected friend of Kristin Comstock McKenzie (Andy), Karin Comstock (Alfredo Roca) and was the adored Poppa to Ethan and Sara McKenzie and Emily and Stella Roca. Colin had a wonderful sense of humour and loved to laugh. He had a great appreciation for all the blessings life had provided him and his loving kindness inspired the same in others. Colin will be missed by many but especially by Wendy (Stanfield) – his partner of 27 years. She called him “My darling one”. They shared a love and appreciation of family, friends, travel, books, movies and the blessings of recovery. A memorial service will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 2:00 p.m., preceded by visitation starting at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Colin are asked to consider the Kidney Care Centre (Westmount Mall) or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.

Wendy and Family, It is with great sadness to hear of Colin's passing having had a great conversation with him a couple of week's ago over the telephone. We lived in Kirkland Lake so many years ago and Colin would be invited for dinner at my Mom's apartment many, many Sundays. He was like a brother to my brother Ron, sister Tudy and myself. We always enjoyed his company and great sense of humour. My family wants to offer you and your family our deepest sympathy.
