Mrs Graat, being a widow is very difficult. Know that the "Gift of Faith", family and friends can be a great comfort. Don't shy away from sharing your pain, tears and memories. Others my wish to share theirs as well. God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and Mother Mary will hold you through this very sad time.

Dear Oda and family. Tony and I are so sorry for your loss of Gerrie. We as friends of family and of the L'Arche Community have been so blessed to know Gerrie. For me, I have known Gerrie for 20 years, he exemplified Servant Leadership. A man who serves generously and does not want to be seen or named. I know that the last 2 years have been very difficult for Gerrie, a tough journey. My heart is filled with gratitude for him, for his life . I will miss our conversations, our visits, our prayers. Gerrie repaired, fixed, created for us in L'Arche. He fixed the fence at Cana in 98, and built the shed, the shelves...He cut our first crosses to create our mosaics as a art activity, he cut and painted our big wooden logo for the 3 d banquet, that same big logo which has accompanied us at all the public event for L'Arche London since, he helped ushering when Jean Vanier was in London. Gerrie has been such a friend to all of us in community. Oda and Gerrie together you have been a testimony to what married love is. Together you have inspired us at the parish, in the community. Gerrie was so proud to be opa, to speak of his grandchildren. For your deep loss, we are so sorry. Please accept our prayers of sympathy, our condolences. Peace
