Carol Ann Meharey (nee Quarrier)
March 21, 2018
It is with great sadness we announce the loss of a strong and caring mother, sister, partner and friend on Wednesday, March 21, 2018. Devoted mother to Scott (Jennifer) and Ryan (Sarah); proud grandma to Xena; loving partner to Alan Hughes; and treasured sister to Linda (Bob) Bell. Carol was welcomed in Heaven by husband Lisle Meharey (2001), brother Don and parents Peggy and Norm. After a 38 year career at Union Gas, Carol was an active member of the Union Gas Retirees’ Association and enjoyed exploring the world with her dear friend, Ann. The memorial service will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family will be welcomed at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial donation in Carol’s memory are asked to consider the Alzheimer Society London and Middlesex.

My sincere condolences to Carol's family. I'm so sorry that I missed the memorial service for Carol. I just have returned from Westview to learn that the service was yesterday. Linda, I want you to know that I am thinking of you at this sad time. I miss seeing you at Ford Keast and chatting about you with Carol. Al, you were a great support to Carol. It was a pleasure meeting you at Jazzercise when you picked her up after class. Carol stood in front of me in class, and was a good model to keep up with. Scott and Ryan, sincere sympathy to you and your family in the loss of a dear mother and grandmother. Carol and I built a friendship at Jazzercise for many years. I have truly missed her for the past few years. She was very supportive to me in coping with my husband's dementia. As you may know, Dick has been in Glendale LTC for almost 3 years suffering from frontal lobe dementia. With sympathy, Marg Dean
Dear Scott and Ryan. We were sorry to hear about your Mom. We have fond memories of the many times we spent in hockey arenas together. Please accept our sincere condolences.
We both worked with Carol at Union Gas. I had the pleasure of working directly with her in Credit. She was always so pleasant and helpful to the customers and her co-workers. Carol's quiet sense of humour was always welcome. Her smile was infectious. Her passing is far too soon. She will be missed by all those whom she touched. Our condolences to her family. You were very lucky to have been a part of this lovely lady's life and heart. Ted & Laurel Shack
We met Carol through Al and his work on the Huron County Crime Stoppers board. She was a wonderful lady who never hesitated to help out when help was needed. She will be missed by many! Please accept our deepest condolences.
I am so saddened to learn of my dear cousin's passing. We spent so much time together as kids, playing cards, watching scary movies and sipping on Wishing Well pop. My deepest heartfelt sympathies to mu cousin Linda, and to Carol's children and friends. "Those we love are never gone until those they loved forget them." Sandra (Bruce Peninsula)
Al, Scott , Ryan and families, we are sorry to hear of the passing of Carol. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this sad time. Due to prior commitments we will be unable to attend the service on Tuesday.
My family and I send our sincere condolences. I wish I had known Carol better but 'distance from' was a factor. The times we did get to share will be fondly remembered.
Great memories of Carol during our years at Union Gas. May you remember her with a smile. Treasure the good times.
Sorry to read of Carol's passing. We worked together at Union Gas for many years and I enjoyed her friendship. She was always smiling! Rest in peace Carol.
Ryan, Sarah, Xena and family you are all in my thoughts and prayers. I'm grateful for the opportunity to have known Carol and to have witnessed the true love she had for you all, always. I know how much she means to you, cherish all those precious moments. Rest In Peace Carol
My thoughts and prayers go out to Ryan, Sarah and Xena and family. I know that your Mom and Grandma was very special to all of you. May she be at peace and now in the loving hands of God.
Carol was my sister in law and a much loved friend. We shared many fun times together as well as many tough times with the loss of my bother and parents. I will miss her.

I worked with Carol for several years in the Credit Dept. at Union Gas. She was always so soft spoken and knew how to handle the customers. Every now and then though, she would come out with a 'zinger'! A few years later, Carol took an early retirement deal offered by the company to save my job. I thanked her often for doing this but she always said I did her a favour. Now I am glad that happened so she could enjoy more years of her well-deserved retirement.
