Dr. John R. Albert
June 5, 2018
Peacefully on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at McCormick Home, in his 94th year. Dearly beloved husband of Abigail (née van Veen). Also sadly missed by members of the van Veen and van Rensen families. John was born in Hungary and following medical training at the University of Brussels, Belgium and specializing in Internal Medicine and Hematology at McGill, was in private practice and industrial medicine (Imperial Oil, Electrolux) in Montreal for 30 years, prior to retiring in London in 1990. A proud Kiwanian, he was a member and past president of Riverview and later a member of the Kiwanis Club of Middlesex Inc. The family would like to thank the staff of McCormick Home for their care and compassion. A memorial service will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment at Woodland Cemetery at a later date. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of John are asked to consider McCormick Dementia Services.

Dear Abby: My deepest sympathy on the death of your dear John. I have some wonderful memories of our times with you & John, one being our Condo summer pot luck suppers & tasting one of your fine desserts. I so enjoyed my conversations with John & you while out walking or up at the pool.. John was a true gentleman & scholar & how my late husband so admired him. May he now rest in peace & may you be comforted in your memories. Love, Theresa Haggarty
Dear Abby We are so sorry to read of John's passing. It was always a pleasure to chat with him , and to see the two of you up at the Pool. I always thought of him as the most profound gentleman - so eloquent and interesting to listen to his stories. He had quite a life! Our sincere condolences to you. Dino and Jane
Barbara and I would like to express our deepest sympathy at the paasing of Uncle John. He was a true gentleman. We were always welcome when we visited he and Tante Elly in London. He was the person who contacted me and advised me of my mother's passing in a gentle and compassionate way. I remeber visiting him on his island home in Montreal and he was such a fun uncle. Many fond memories and the loss of a wonderful person Andrew and Barbara van Veen
To the Family: My sympathy goes to all of you during your time of grief. May the "God of Comfort" (Psalms 83:18) comfort and help you through this difficult time. And may his promises found at John 6:40 and Acts 24:15, " ... there is going to be a resurrection..." provide you with strength and hope. We long to see the fulfillment of these promises soon.
