It is with heavy hearts the family of Richard Lloyd Burridge “Ric” announce his passing, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, on Friday, January 18, 2019 at Victoria Hospital, in his 71st year. Loving husband and best friend to Diane (Cake) for 52 years. Dear father to Rick (Dawn), Jody Rodney (Byron) and Jason (Katherine). Ric was the proud and cherished Grampa to 7 beautiful grandchildren: Chloe, Meghan, Bryce, Jayden, Isaiah, Lauren and Blake. His grandchildren were all so dear to him: he was so proud of each and every one. They are all so unique, talented and loved spending time with their grandpa. Ric is also survived by his brothers Dave and Tim; sisters Cathy Ormandy and Barb Ross. Ric will be missed by his Aunt Fran, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbours. He will be dearly missed by his mother-in-law Elsie Cake and sister-in-law Linda Newman (Doug). Ric spent 38 years working at Kellogg Canada as a millwright where he made many lifelong friends. He was an avid golfer and in retirement years spent hours on the links with his buddies. Ric was a homebody who enjoyed working in his yard and gardens. He was so proud to have the nicest lawn in the neighbourhood. There was not much Ric couldn’t do, or things he couldn’t fix, or at least give his best effort. Ric is predeceased by his father George (1974), mother Angela (2006), brother Larry (2005), father-in-law Clayton Cake (1985), nephew Chris Henderson, and brother-in-law Ron Ross and John Ormandy. Cremation has taken place. A private funeral service was conducted at Westview Funeral Chapel. A Celebration of Ric’s life will be held at LAMBETH LEGION, BRANCH 501, 7097 Kilbourne Road, London, on Saturday, February 2, 2019, from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the London Regional Cancer Program or The Kidney Foundation of Canada would be appreciated by the family.

Rick, Dawn, and family we are so sorry for the loss of your Father, husband,brother, uncle, grandfather. Ric will be missed greatly by many. Our thoughts are with you all.

So sorry for your loss Diane and family. Rick was such a kind man, and always had a big smile, and a contagious laugh. We had many a good times with the group. He was truly wonderful friend, and pal to Steve. He waited at the hospital one morning for me to come in so he could see Steve one more time. ..I still have the key that he gave him. Gone but never forgotten.
I was so sorry to read about Rick's passing and my thoughts go out to you, Diane, and the rest of your family. I remember when we were all going through the 'Stop Smoking Program' when he was first diagnosed and although we have lost touch over the last 6 + years, I have very found memories of our time together. This is a very difficult time but I know you have lots of friends and family and wonderful memories to help you through. Thinking of you and wishing you peace. Janie
We will miss you dearly Rick, Ann says she will miss the whistle and you picking her up when she was walking home from the store Mateo will miss you calling his name in the summer, Alyssa and Emma always had a special place in their heart for you. I will miss our talks, sitting in your garage having a beer, checking out our lawns, going to the London Knights games and solving all the worlds issues lol... You left a lasting impression on all of us Rick and I am proud and honored to have called you , not just my good neighbor, but a true friend. I just wanted to say thanks for everything and when I say everything I mean it EVERYTHING!!!! You always teated me like I was part of family and you were the best Ball coach any kid could ask for!!!! I will never ever forget our Christmas eves together at your place and I will never ever forget when it was time for confirmation at St. Anthony's and I was fortunate enough that you agreed to be my sponsor I couldn't have had a better one!! So sorry for your loss Diane and family. I was fortunate to have worked with Ric for a number of years. Every task, or job he took on he completed with meticulously. Nothing was missed. His steady and positive personality set him out from others. He was a man who could be counted on. He carried that work ethic to his home and vehicles, His ability to stay positive after his diagnose and wanting to spend as much time with his family as possible. A really nice man will be missed. Rest in peace Richard knowing you have made a difference.

Rick you will be missed. You were a kind and caring person and was meticulous in everything you did. I remember coming over to you home once to move your gazebo from the back patio to the backyard. enjoy the one last cruise in the gold camero Z28 with the T tops off, listening to Foreigner, Chicago for eternity. May your work bench always be spotless with no spec of dirt on it! (Who can keep a work bench so clean?) To always bringing home the pop tarts, cereal, and always having Real Coca Cola in the fridge for all us kids. To the endless all you can eat popsicles in the garage freezer. (By the way it was me and Yappy who dropped the wooden popsicle sticks on your clean garage floor. Thank you Jason for not ratting us our that day your Dad beat your axs!!! For allowing us to eat, drink and swim in the pool. We were there constantly at your house and both you and Diane never complained. You guys enjoyed the entertainment that the 3 amigos provided you. (I think you did). When you see Steve Clements up there tell him hello, and it was a good decision to pull Jason off the mound after walking 12 straight batters. Even though Jason says he had "1 more solid inning left in him", he had a rubber arm that day. Rest In Peace Ric, and thank you Diane.

Rest In Peace Coach. I hope nobody ever parks on your lawn again and if they do, you have a large bar of soap to write a love note on their windsheild. As well I hope the guy washing your golf clubs dries the handle grips before you swing it. We drank a lot of your beer underage thank you for that. One more thing it was Diane who crashed the beautiful citation at the drive in back in 1980.
Rest in piece my friend, what a pleasure it was to have met you. Because of you I now have a new best friend and I'm very greatful for that.
