While I have never had the pleasure of meeting, Mr. Evans, I have the privilege of calling his daughter, Lynn, a beloved friend. Through that cherished friendship, I can only imagine, the man that Robers Evans must have been to have raise such a strong, and humble woman, one of uncompromising character, pure faith, and spirit. What a wonderful legacy. Lynn, and family, I am so terribly sorry for your loss. May you Rest In Peace, Mr. Evans.

I met Bob when I was a teenager. He and Rachel ran a little convenience store in my hometown. I didn't know it then, but it turns out it was the beginning of a great friendship. Bob would always encourage me to better myself in finding gainful employment. He'd tell me to go back to school and make something of myself. Get yourself an education. Education was important to Bob. After the store closed it's doirs for good, we all kind of went our separate ways. I would pop in unannounced from time to time at his home just outside Frenchman's Cove in Blowmedown. He'd always be peddling around the yard doing an odd chore. He was a worker. Never stopped much. But would always stop what he was doing to entertain company. He'd always ask me what I've been up too.....when I told home I found my calling in life and became a heavy equipment operator, you could see the pride in his smile as he congratulated me. He was always so genuine and sincere. He was happy for me. That was Bob, always wanting the best for those he cared about. My life has been so blessed knowing Bob and have the honour of having him in my life and to have him as a friend gave me a wealthy sole. My heart has a huge void in it now Robert (I started calling him by his proper name later in life, later in friendship, when I finaly grew up) Well Robert, it's been a while since we had a chance to chat. I turned out ok....I think....maybe lol I just want to say thank you. For your advice in life, for the twenty's you spotted me over the years, for the memories, and mist importantly....thank you for your time. Time is the one thing we give to people that we will never get back. I wouldn't trade one second of time shared with you for anything. Only wish we had a little more time than we did. Til we meet again my friend I know you will be watching over me .... seems you always did Loves ya buddy, Monty
I saw a picture of uncle Bob and told aunt Rachel that he was the best man in the world. He was so kind and good to me. He taught me right from wrong and how to respect others. He always explained things to me so I knew the reason why they had to be done a certain way. He was a great man and I will miss him dearly.
I had just arrived home from a seven hour flight from Alberta and got word that Uncle Bob had passed away and his funeral was taking place. I drove two hours to attend. This man was not only my uncle he was the father I never had. I looked up to him. He was always there to help, advise and just listen. I regret that I never got the chance to tell him just how highly I thought of him. He was the matriarch of our family. Now we are like a ship without a rudder LOST. He was a wonderful man and will never be forgotten.
We are sorry to hear of Bob's passing. Our heart felt condolences go out to Rachel and family. Bob was a life time friend a gentleman. He will be missed.
My heartfelt condolences go out to you and your family. I will surely miss the presence of my oldest and dearest friend. We first met on the school playing fields when we were on opposing teams for football at the age of 10 and we remained the closest of friends through out the years. Bobby was truly lovable and kind person. Bobby left St Helena at the age of 15, and I left at 16. We met up again in 1967 on the Raina Del Mar sailing to South America. Those will always remain some of my most fondest memories. A few years passed and Bobby went to work in the North sea but always made a point to reach out to me by phone or when he was passing through Heathrow. We are truly sorry for the loss of Bobby, but know that he will live on in the memories of his friends and family. Bobby will always be missed, but will never be forgotten, may his soul rest in peace. I know Bobby has moved to a special place where he will be watching us, and the people who loved and cherished him. Our condolences to you and your family on the passing of Bobby. May our friendship and prayers ease you through this difficult time. I know that we will see Booby again on the football playing fields of his new resting place where he is probably catching with Davie. I know I will see friends again one day. Colin and Shirley
Both Eileen and myself were great friends of Bob, always a pleasure to be around. I first met Bob at work while he was a marine pilot. I was always touched to see how concerned he was at his job and his concern for the safety of the workers. After my first time meeting him as a pilot, we met as best friends. After meeting Rachael it was understandable why they were such a wonderful couple, they both shared the same respect and friendship for others. I'm sure the almighty has called you to a place where the seas are always calm and you will be surrounded by wonderful friends, Rest in peace old buddy until we meet again, god bless
Dear Rachel, Further to ours of 25th January, we would like to say that we remember you so often and the special association we had with you and cousin Bobby. Warmest wishes to you and Terri Lynn, Rick and Noah. Love, Delia and Cliff
My dear sweet husband I want to thank you for loving me unconditionally all the years we have been married. You have. Den my rock, you have nurtured me and taught me how to become a woman. How to be tolerant, trustworthy and loyal. You were my best friend, my lover and my soulmate. This life goes on but the light as dimmed. I look for you every day, I long to hear your voice and often wonder what you would say about certain things concerning our life. Oh what knowledge you had and were so willing to share. I marvelled at how people always sought your advice and thoughts concerning world events. I loved your knowledge of mathematics , celestial navigation and world geography. I was so proud that you were a master. Rainer as that was your personal goal to achieve but I would have loved you no matter what you did for a living. I miss you Bobby true friend, lover and soulmate xxxx
Bob was the definition of what a true human being should be. He was one of the kindest, friendliest, honest men I have ever met. Bob had a warm and calm heart that shone through in conversations with him. I never saw him often, but when I had the pleasure, it was exactly that, a pleasure to have those moments. Let his name be spoke often and let his light shine through. God bless you Rachel, Terri Lynn, Rick Noah, and family.
Sending our Deepest Condolences to you Rachel, Lynn, Rick, and Noah. Cherish your beautiful memories and know that we are thinking of you all during this sad time. All our love...xoxo
Bob will be forever missed, but never forgotten.
Hand in hand you walked through this world admiring and loving each other - each day a little more than the last. You never left his side but he had to continue this next part of his journey alone. Remember his sunshine because it will help you through this very difficult time. You, Rachel, were - and still are- deeply loved by a wonderful man. The family that he built with you meant the world to him. My deepest condolescences to you, Lynn, Rick and Noah. Remember that he is only ever a memory away.
