Christos Shinohoritis

March 11, 2019

Passed away peacefully at his residence, with his family by his side, on Monday, March 11, 2019. Christos is survived by his wife, Katherine; daughter, Elli; and son, Gus (Peppy). He will be especially missed by his grandchildren, Christian (Danielle), Giorgio, Costa (Meagan) and his great-grandson, Jackson. After serving in the Greek Navy, Christos emigrated to Canada in 1958 to be with his future wife, Katherine. Christos owned and operated many restaurants over the years, retiring in 1997. He moved to London in 2006 to be closer to his children and grandchildren. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation of the Palliative Care Unit under the direction of Dr. Kirk Hamilton, and the Cancer Care Team under the guidance of Dr. Selay Lam. A special thank you to Natalie King, his personal nurse. Another special note of appreciation to Elli for going above and beyond to care for our father during his illness. A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2019 from 7:00-9:00 p.m., with prayers at 9:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London. A funeral service will be conducted at HOLY TRINITY GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH, 131 Southdale Road West, London, on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Rev. Father Demetre Mouselimis. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Christos are asked to consider the London Regional Cancer Program or the Heart and Stroke Foundation and would be greatly respected.
