Major Edie was a great encourager to me when I was a Cadet at London Citadel. I am saddened to hear of her passing - but praising God she has received her promotion to glory! Servant of God, well done! Rest from thy loved employ; The battle fought, the victory won, Enter thy Master's joy. Soldier of Christ, well done! Praise be thy new employ; And while eternal ages run, Rest in thy Saviour's joy. She was a 'wee dear' (as we would say in Belfast) and I will remember her fondly. My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this difficult time. God Bless

My sweet dear Aunt Edie. I am so thankful for the many beautiful memories we shared and am comforted to know you are no longer in pain. The amazing trips to Canada to visit you and Uncle Nelson, you always made the best toast with lemon curde jam! I always admired how much you loved my Uncle Nelson and how you loved to take care of him in EVERY way! You were always so selfless and took so much joy in taking care of him and making him happy which was evident in his smile. My dear Uncle Nelson has his sweetie with him once again. Thank you for being so giving and for partaking in my wedding with Uncle Nelson, that was so incredibly special. I always had so much fun when you visited us in California. I will smile when I think of your big smile, your beautiful grey hair, your yodel while playing the accordion but more importantly, the love you have for the lord and our family. You have been promoted to glory my sweet Aunt! Memories are precious and that is true of the memories I have of Edith and Nelson and the time we shared at 2130 Bayview Avenue. Edith's love for Jesus was so wonderfully expressed in the joy she shared - Edith and her accordion - such energy for a little lady.
