I was saddened to hear of Rita's passing. She, Joan and I were very close as kids, but as the years passed we saw less of each other. My condolences to all of you, her family. I know you will miss her greatly. Much love from Rita's cousin, Dorena

My deepest condolences to the Dermer family. Aunty Rita was a lovely aunt, always smiling. She will be missed. Maureen and family

~ Maureen Tulloch

One could not ask for a better aunt. In the 50 plus years I knew my aunt Rita, I never once saw her be aggressive or negative towards another person. Our families were very close and spent a many vacations, outings and Sunday dinners together. My aunt Rita was like a second mother to my sisters and me, much like our beloved uncle Steve was like a father. Our condolences go out to my cousins Cathy, Lynn, Ann and all the spouses and grandchildren. We will miss aunt Rita but gain comfort in knowing she has rejoined her beloved husband, mother, father, and brothers and sisters. Rest in peace my lovely aunt.

~ Tim Woffenden

We will miss Auntie Rita at all our family celebrations and of course the trips to the Casino over the years. I know she got a big kick out of taking mom's Walker into the casinos after mom passed. Auntie Rita played a big role in our lives from the time we were children. She was always kind and welcomed us with open arms. Rest in Peace dear Auntie.

My deepest and most sincere condolence Lynn, Cathy and Ann on the passing of your wonderful Mom. Lorraine, Pat and Tim I know you will also miss Aunty Rita. Whenever I talked to Aunty Rita on the phone she always was upbeat and full of family news. I have fond memories of our childhood in Greenfield Park when the Hill family was all together. Sending healing prayers and comfort. Your cousin Deborah

Cathy, Lynn and Ann, Your home was my second home, and your Mom, my second Mom. Too many funny stories to tell here about your Mom. Such a kind, caring and pure of heart person. We were all so lucky to have had her in our lives. Thinking of all of you. xxxx Jules

Dear Lynn, Cathy and Ann and family. My thoughts are on Aunt Rita, who was such a kind and loving Mum and Aunt. I have such fond memories of her and the whole family when we got together during the Christmas holidays. May your great memories and Aunt Rita's words of wisdom comfort you. We usually chatted once a year and I will miss her call. Take care all of you. Hugs and kisses. Diane

So sorry for the loss of Aunt Rita and my deepest sympathy for Cathy, Lynn, Ann, and their family. Aunt Rita was one of the kindest and nicest people I have ever known. It had been years since we last saw each other, but every time we talked on the phone it felt like no time had passed. She loved to talk about spending the holidays with her girls and all the fun she had with them at the casino. Aunt Rita showed so much love for her family and received lots of love in return. I still have the fondest memories of Aunt Rita and Uncle Steve from growing up with them in my life. She will be missed so much.

Dear Cathy,Lynn and Ann, I am saddened to hear about your loss. I remember Rita, your mother, as a very warm and caring neighbour and friend. when I first moved into Greenfield Park as a young mother with no friends in the area she took me and my family under her wing and helped us to feel welcome and part of our new neighbourhood. We became friends and kept in touch over the years. My children loved her. It is comforting to know she had a peaceful death with her caring family around her. You are in my Thoughts and prayers. I was so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. Auntie Rita was a kind and loving woman, with a great sense of humour. She was always lovely to me as a kid, when I would drop by her home in "The Terraces" with my friend Debbie Hill. My deepest condolences to all of you.

On behalf of Cathy Hart's colleagues and friends at Raymond James in Burlington I wish to send our love and condolences to Cathy and her family with the passing of her mum, Rita. We know that Cathy and her sisters took such good care of their mum, especially during the past few weeks when she was so ill. Cathy told me recently that her mum was "one of the girls", that they enjoyed her company and considered her as much their friend as they did their mother, so she will surely be missed. We hope that knowing we're thinking of you all at this difficult time will help to bring some comfort. With sincere sympathy for your loss, Andrew, Shaun, Wes, Laurie and Ginny.

~ Ginny Arnott-Wood, Raymond James

Rita, My "Host Mom" during the worst winter storms when I was working in London. You opened your home and your heart to me. I will be forever grateful and I will miss your sweet smile. Ann, Cathy and of course Lynn; my heart hurts with yours. Condolences just don't seem enough. Your mom shared her love so generously and you in turn paid it forward and shared that love. Thank you for sharing with me.

~ Loretta Stevens

Our dear "Auntie" Rita will be greatly missed! She and her girls so lovingly adopted our family when we met years ago through the Hoult clan. We know how much she was loved by everyone, her beautiful smile that lit up the room and her jolly laugh will be so greatly missed! Our heartfelt condolences to Cathy, Lynn, Ann and Lorraine (her "daughter"/niece), we know how great your loss is. Christmas Eve will never be the same without her! Heaven's great reunion keeps getting better and bigger all the time....until we see each other again.

~ Carolyn Bird

Our heartfelt condolences to Lynn, her sisters and family. "Mom" Rita was a kind and lovely lady and we know how much she will be missed. May she Rest In Peace ... until we meet again.
