Peacefully, at Victoria Hospital, on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, Mr. Steven Wayne Hunte of London, in his 60th year. Beloved brother of Margaret (Charles) Gamble and Jennifer (Grant) Miller. Survived and missed by many nieces and nephews. Steven was a longtime employee of University Hospital for over 30 years. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at 4:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. Those wishing to make memorial donations are asked to consider the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Canada or the New Hope Community Church (London).

Steven! You made it home my old friend. My condolences to the family. Timeless friend. Super guy. We used to own this town. From Smitty's to Peaches to the Magnolia Cafe or just driving up and down town. So many memories and stories with you. Each one vividly is recalled in my mind. You had a way of taming the drum skins to a beat that was unique. Didn't matter where we were, that beat was always present as was that wry smile and if we didn't get it what you did the expression with your eyebrows would enforce it. We never did make it to Barbados together. Some day, my friend, I will see you again. Steven Hunte, a good man!
I knew Steve when we were young boys in grade 8 and 9. I hadn't seen him for decades. I was just thinking of him the other day and tried looking him up and this is what I found. I have thought about Steve from time to time and wondered how he made out in life because he had such a profound effect on me when we were so young. Steve befriended me when I arrived in London from the west, he made me feel very welcome and helped me through some very troubled times in my youth. I wish I would have reached out earlier. My friend I wish you well in heaven where you belong. Bob Reisig

Rest in peace Steve, what a wonderful guy. He will be missed by many and I will miss sharing my birthdate with such a special soul. Many condolences to family.
