John Douglas Bryant

Peacefully with family by his side, at Victoria Hospital, on Monday, July 1, 2019, in his 95th year. Beloved husband of Doris (née Steedman) for 67 years. Dear father of Steve (Hanneke), Anne Smith (David) and Karen Martin (Ian). Much loved Grandpa of Cody (Erika), Kasey (John), Jesse (Vicky), Amanda (Jeff), Shawne (Crystal), Janelle, Karly (Craig), and Great-grandpa of Carter, Kaley, Olivia, Addison, Corbin, Zach, Cole, and a new arrival due in September. Loved by his twin brother, the late Jim (Lorraine); his brothers Don and Ron (Diane); and his sister-in-law, Penny Steedman. Predeceased by in-laws Mary (Stanley), Ruth (Roy) and George. A special “Thank you” to Rev. Keith McKee and the doctors and staff at Victoria Hospital for their care and concern. John was a proud naval veteran of WWII. A Navy service will be performed on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. under the auspices of RCNA London, followed by visitation from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the funeral service will be conducted on Monday, July 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior. Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of John are asked to consider St. George’s Presbyterian Church or the London Regional Cancer Program.
