Mildred Tresa (née Jamieson) Beatty

July 3, 2019

Peacefully, on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at her residence. It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of Mildred Tresa Beatty in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late Harry William Beatty (2011). Cherished mother of Frances Sutherland, Greg (Judy), Gary (Pam), and Brian (Kristine). Proud grandmother of Kirsten, Derek and Matthew Sutherland; Ashlyn Beatty; Tyler Beatty, Amy Biderman and Spencer Beatty; Daniel and Caitlin Beatty; as well as ten precious great-grandchildren.

Mildred lived a very full and fascinating life. To her, the importance of family was paramount. She enjoyed many years camping across Canada and the U.S. with Harry, their 4 children and the dog. They travelled through Europe, following an unforgettable year’s residence in Malaysia. The family then moved from Welland to reside in London.

Once empty nesters, Mildred and Harry travelled the world together, which included a two-year stint in Bolivia. Their latter years were spent enjoying winters in Florida and summers at the cottage.

Mildred was a supportive, caring homemaker and for over 67 years was a devoted, loving partner to her husband, Harry. Up until a few months before her passing, she was alert and very proud of being independent; this included the ability to drive up to the family cottage at Colpoys Bay, Wiarton.

We have enjoyed countless family gatherings and feel blessed to have been raised in a home filled with so much laughter and love.

The family wish to express their sincere gratitude and thanks to Dr. Greg Gillis, the staff on the Assisted Living floor at Oakcrossing Retirement Living and V.O.N. for their excellent care and warm compassion demonstrated in tending to our mother’s and family’s needs.

As per Mildred’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019, at 1:00 p.m., at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where a Celebration of Life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Mildred are asked to consider the Alzheimer Society London and Middlesex or the Children’s Health Foundation.

What a wonderful life! So reflected in her beauty, adored from her teen years by Harry. She stunned us all when she said yes to Harry ..I will marry you and move to the east coast to be with you! Such love and commitment st such a tender age! Always so thoughtful of others. I am so grateful that she kept in touch with me, calling me and inviting me to her 90th birthday and to her birthday right after my husband died... We heard about all our friends in the same age bracket passing and we wondered when our time would come...ever grateful for our many Blessings, being in our own home, still driving, our supportive family, our dog! We have been truly blessed and we were always thankul. Hard to part but still thankful for so many years
