Vince and I shared a friendship over our whole lives. We where both born on the same day of the same month of the same year, May 28, 1949. The Vergilio family and the Stewart family where somewhat intertwined for many years. Vince's father Tony and my father Ralph worked together, hunted together and shared a friendship as did Vince and myself. We grew-up together in Manor Park and beyond. Although our lives went separate ways, our friendship remained rock solid. I admired Vince for being the honest, strait-shooter, that he was and a Loving Family Man. In this time of great sorrow our heart goes out to Christine and Family. Love Greg and Barb.

Vince was one of those kids that if you observed him on the playing field you could improve your game, he was fiercely competitive as a kid and a pretty good catcher. My condolences to his family.

I'm very sorry to hear of this news. Mr. Vergilio was my grade 7 teacher over 20 years ago at St. Thomas More. I have fond memories of him. He was a wonderful teacher with a great sense of humour. I'm certain that there are dozens, if not hundreds, of other former students who remember him that way.

I only just learned of Vince's death a few days ago. I knew him in 1968 through to 1970 and I knew him to be kind, gentle, funny, smart and curious about life. Reading the many tributes to him it is wonderful to know that he had a good life, with Christine, his wife, and his children and grandchildren. I am not surprised to learn that he was a much loved friend, teacher and colleague to those who knew him. I am sure he is greatly missed. I will forever treasure the time we shared those many years ago. My belated sympathy to his wife and family. Goodbye Vince. I hope you are resting easy.
