James ‘Jim’ Timothy Lapthorne

Jim was always a good friend to my dad, Dave Hyman. Also, I remember him watching my sister, Kim and my fastball games. Jim was a man with a big heart and will be missed. Sincere condolences from Sheri & Kim Hyman

My father, Howard Walker, was Jim's table mate at Queens Village. Jim was a thoughtful and kind man who was generous with his time. My mother was confined to the 2nd floor and my dad was lonely. Jim scooped up Howie with a smile and a "man's humor" making each mealtime something to enjoy. We shared many pleasurable conversations in the sunshine on the porch which I will always hold dear. The Beck vs Wheable rivalry brought a lot of laughs especially when he appeared in his team attire. Glorious moments to cherish! I know my dad would have been pleased with Jim watching his beloved golf sitting in his chair. Thanks for sharing Jim with us. Your father was a treasure!

Hi David and Brian. I am thinking of you in your time of loss. I coached Jim at Lady Beck summer park and Little League Football when he was 12 years old and he was the only one who could catch the 40 yard bombs of Don Luce. He was a good fastball team mate as well.

As someone who competed with Jim on the football field at Beck, the fastball diamond at Stronach and the bowling alley at Fleetway, I got the opportunity to see what a natural athlete he was. He loved to compete but loved being part of a team even more. We have some great memories from the numerous fastball tournaments and the after bowling social gatherings. You will be missed but remembered by all those who knew you Jim. RIP Bob & Terri

I miss him ever day. from my very first day at Queens Village, Jim looked after me and pushed me in my chair wherever I needed to go. his kindness and sprit will stay with me always. I miss our weekend cribbage games very much. he was very competitive. Danielle, your golf games with Jim were the joy of his life; the way you took over when he became ill, was a great source of pride to him. he never had to worry about his appointments and treatments...he'd say "Danielle will know" Be good to each other and maintain your Keg dinners. that would make him very happy;to see Jimbo "eat everythging that wasn't nailed down". Theresa and I would like to extend our condolences to Danielle and Jimbo. Lapper was a dear friend to us and I regret not visiting him more often. We enjoyed many round of golf together and a few games of crib during our breaks at 3m. He was talented at both but was an even better man with a big heart. Miss you brother

We were neighbours on Speight Boulevard for years and Bill went to Sir Adam Beck High School with him as well as worked with him at 3M for many years.
