We were all so very sorry to hear of Doug's passing. He was such a sweet man that always made us smile. We truly enjoyed all our "driveway" chats with Doug and Kathy on Rockford Crescent. We will always remember the familiar sight of Doug on his front porch enjoying some of his favourite things. He was a kind, thoughtful neighbour and a friend that is missed by us all. We are thinking of you Kathy and your entire family at this very difficult time.

Kathy and Family, Please accept our condolences on the loss of a great husband, father and grandfather. We only got to know him due to our children's school and sports activities. He was always a pleasant, upbeat type of person and a great family man. Doug's passing will leave a giant hole in the lives of each of you, Hopefully, the fortune in memories he has left you will ease the pain. We will keep you all in our prayers. May he rest in peace! I am in shock and saddened at the news of Doug's passing. It is May and someone just called me today and let me know. Last I saw Doug was at my husband's funeral. He said to me "I am not well, but I had to come for Billy". It is truly who Doug was in my mind. Even when he was suffering, he was there for someone else. Had I'd known, I would have been there for him! My heart goes out to Kathy. I am so sorry for your loss. He was special. Fly with the Angels Doug. Give my Angel a hug up there for me!

From the day I first met Doug Leinweber over 40 years ago, I felt a special connection to this fine man. Through many adventures together since then, some in good times and some in tough times, I came to know Doug as a caring husband, a devoted father, a proud grandfather and just an all round really solid guy. Proud to call him a friend, I now raise my glass and say "Dougie - ave atque vale my good friend, and rest in peace !" and to his family "thank you for sharing him with us, and stay strong !"...Love, Rick Gushulak
