Mary Anne (née Doyle) Marrone

April 10, 2020

With broken hearts we share that Anne passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Friday, April 10th, 2020, after a courageous but tough battle with lymphoma. Daughter of Cecelia Connolly and the late Gerard Doyle. Amazing mother to Jason (Jess) and Sarah (John). Loved by her grand fur-dog, Tucker. Loving sister to Theresa (Don) Russelo, Pauline (Tony) Merucci, Peter (Terry) Doyle, and Loretta Girard, and sister-in-law Brenda Doyle. Predeceased by brother Pat Doyle (2012). Amazing aunt and great-aunt to many loving nieces and nephews. Anne touched the lives of many during her 42 years of nursing, retiring 4 years ago from CCU at University Hospital. Anne will be missed by many friends. She was well known in the community; and anywhere we went, she had to stop and talk. A heartfelt “thank you” to Dr. Howson-Jan and his team at London Regional Cancer Program, Victoria Hospital – C7 Oncology Floor, and Sheri from ParaMed for the amazing care Anne received over the last year. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Anne are asked to consider the London Regional Cancer Program, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada, or Light The Night Walk (London) team “Mama Marrone’s Army”.

“If love were enough, you’d still be here.”

Dear Cecelia and family. Our deepest sympathy at the passing of Anne. Our families enjoyed the West Lion's Park neighborhood while growing up many years ago. We will keep you in our prayers. George Brunton and family.

Dearest Sarah & Jason Your Mom was a Super Mom, Healing Nurse, Genuine Friend, Courageous Woman, Dedicated Library Volunteer, Amazing Storyteller, Generous Caregiver, Faithful Witness, Classy Lady, Selfless Spirit, and now Anne is Heaven's Newest Angel. Anne touched many people with her friendly chatter, warm heart, helping hands, contagious laugh, giving spirit and now we feel her absence. Anne was a reliable Library Volunteer at Blessed Kateri School. Anne loved & made it her mission to be helpful to all of the students, staff, and fellow parents. In a short time Anne was highly regarded by all who had the privilege to know her. Over the years the bond & friendship that grew was a high priority with Anne. Anne had a way of keeping us connected & so after our time at B.K. we were blessed to lunch together often to nurture a giving friendship that was special to each of us. Anne, when you have lunch with Pat, Kath & Tom now, we know that our ears will be burning. We will miss you dearly when we gather again, but if your ears are burning, know it is us, re-living memories, of when you were with us, dear friend. For many years Anne watched over you Sarah & Jason. As a Mom she poured her love, her fun-loving ways, her everything into your hearts. In return you were both there for your Mom, Anne to give her life, meaning. Going forward I hope that you you will find comfort as you keep her spirit alive in the many stories of the times, you shared , life together. With many happy memories, we will miss you & still, feel your presence. Ciao Bella, Hugs xoxo Nancy Serratore Evans

Dear Sarah and Jason, Your mom was such a feisty, energetic friend to her "270s" neighbours. We enjoyed so many laughs and conversations at our ladies' dinners. Caring, kind, compassionate only begin to describe her qualities. Please know she was a wonderful friend to us all. Blessings, Francine

Anne, has been an amazing sister all these years. Even til the bitter end she remained caring, gracious and grateful to everyone. Both Sarah and Jason never left her side. Their care, love and compassion for their mother will be forever engraved into my heart! Our hearts will be forever broken. Our family has been so blessed to have had Anne in our lives. She was always so passionate over are expanding family. She was always so generous to her nieces, nephews ,their children and to anyone she knew. She loved her profession as an RN and excelled in her nursing career. Even after retirement she continued to care and look after all of mom's needs til she could no longer do that. I specially loved Annie for her delicious baking especially her carrot cake and Hawaiian brownies. She had a gift in the kitchen. Knitting and chatting were her favourite hobbies. Now she can rest in peace with our brother Pat and dear Grandma. Love you forever!❤️

To the entire family: I am so sorry to hear of Anne's passing and offer all of you my sincere condolences. Thinking of Anne brought back vivid memories of growing up in London. Some of my favourite times were dinners at the house all crowded around the kitchen table with Anne serving. Or having the Smart kids and most of the Doyle kids (Anne included) squeezed into our car when my father drove us to Catholic Central on very snowy days. I know from Theresa that Anne had a wonderful career and an amazing family. All the best to all of you! Anne Marie & Bob

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Anne. I have many fond memories of working with Anne, especially at St Joe's CCU where I worked with Anne as a brand new grad. You could always count on Anne for a lot of laughs no matter how difficult the shift was. Although we did not work together for the last years I always enjoyed catching up at CCU events or the many times we ran into each other at Loblaws. I hope that in time you all will find some happiness again in your cherished memories of Anne.

My deepest sympathies, Sarah and Jason and extended families. It was an honour to have known Anne. As a parent at Blessed Kateri School, Anne could be found volunteering in the library or wherever the opportunity arose. Always, with a smile on her face and that joyful voice. And how proud she was of her children! My heart goes out to all of you. <3

I worked with Anne in CCU at LHSC (UH Campus) for several yrs and always enjoyed my shifts with her .. She was so smart, so kind, so caring, and so even tempered, and her patients always loved her .. She was an excellent nurse.. The staff loved her as well ; she was always positive, cheerful and hard working .. I know she suffered a lot over the past year due to this terrible, unfair disease ; RIP Anne .. I am really saddened ; sending my sincere condolences to all her family and friends. My heart goes out to you.

Dear Sarah and Jason, I was so saddened to hear of the loss of your mom. She was a truly lovely woman. She was so incredibly friendly and warm in all her interactions whether it was meeting her outside the bank, in the mall, at church, in the hallways at BK, or at student events at MTS, so many years ago. I remember frequently chatting with her as we waited for you kids to finish your school day. She never failed to ask about my family and was thrilled to share news of you both. She was an incredibly caring, perceptive and intelligent woman. I am so very very sorry for your loss. Michelle

I am so saddened to hear of the loss of Anne. She was a wonderful, warm , giving person who I so enjoyed chatting with. She was a dedicated nurse and school volunteer - but most of all she was a very proud Mom of you both Sarah and Jason. I wish all of you much strength and courage in the days ahead as I remember Anne fondly.
