Lloyd Cecil Anderson

April 13, 2020

It is with great sadness that the Anderson family announces the peaceful passing of Lloyd, at peopleCare Oakcrossing, London ON, on Monday, April 13, 2020, in his 88th year. Lloyd is survived and will be greatly missed by Eleanor, his beloved wife of 64 years. Their love and memories of travelling the world and dancing will be cherished forever. Lovingly remembered by his son Chris (Sandy) and grandchildren Valerie and Brooke; his son Ian (Laura) and grandchildren Nolan and Emma; and by his sister, Donna Shaw (Goderich). Predeceased by brother Ross (Belgrave). Lloyd is an Alumnus of the Ryerson University Architectural Technology Program and a member of the Association of Architectural Technologists of Ontario. Over the years Lloyd worked on major architectural projects, including the construction of University Hospital and additions to St. Joseph’s Hospital in London. Later, he became a professor of Architectural Technology at Fanshawe College, until his retirement in 1997. Lloyd was passionate about woodworking, carving, golf, hiking, dancing, volunteering, bowling and tai chi. Wonderful sunsets at the cottage on Lake Huron and spending time with family and friends were a highlight of his summers. The Anderson family extends an enormous “THANK YOU!” to the 3rd floor, White Pine staff at peopleCare Oakcrossing, for their compassionate care. Cremation has taken place. Interment will follow at a later date, to be with his late parents John and Myrtle, and brother Ross, at Brandon Cemetery in Belgrave, Ontario. Those wishing to make a charitable donation in memory of Lloyd can consider the LHSC Baker Centre for Pancreatic Cancer or the Boys & Girls Club of London.

Dear Eleanor, My sincere and deepest condolences to you and your family for your loss. Lloyd was one of the teachers I respected the most during my time as an Architectural Technology student and afterwards as a work colleague. He definitely fit and dressed for the part. I will always remember Lloyd as being "essentially" a quiet individual, having a good sense of humor and a good hard working man. Joe Teodoro

Sorry to learn of Lloyd's passing. He will be remembered as the much respected gentleman he was as a fellow Professor and colleague at Fanshawe College. Lloyd was a highly regarded fellow Council member of Association of Architectural Technologists of Ontario and a member of the Certification Board before he retired. When travelling back and forth to those meetings in Toronto we thought we had solved all of the problems that ever existed. Eleanor, our thoughts are with you and your family at this time. Stay safe.
