Peter Douglas Campbell

July 20, 2020

With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, uncle, great-uncle, and friend, on Monday, July 20th, 2020. Peter is the beloved husband and best friend of MaryAnne Campbell. Dearly loved father of Allison (Mike) Beharriell and Kelly (Joe) Campbell-Gilroy. Cherished Papa to Molly Gilroy. Predeceased by his treasured parents, Mary (1973) and James Douglas (1975). Peter will be greatly missed by his sister, Judy, his niece, Kate, and great-niece, Madalena. He will be missed and lovingly remembered by many friends in Canada, Holland, and Cuba. Peter will be remembered for his undeniable love for his family and friends, his playful sense of humour, his love of wooden boats and the outdoors, his ear-to-ear smile, and infectious laugh. His legacy will undoubtedly live on in all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Sunday, July 26th, 2020 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. Registration is required to attend the visitation. DearMaryAnne,Allison,Kelly and family, I was so very sorry to hear of Peter's sudden passing and know how difficult this time must be for you all. I loved hearing of all your wonderful stories of Peter and your lives together with the girls over all the years we worked together. He certainly was an amazing man. Sending you lots of love and prayers.

Peter will be deeply missed by the Stubbs family. When we became neighbours, Peter made us feel welcomed to Chestnut Hill, immediately. He was so friendly, and always offering to help us around the house. He was so sincere, never wanting or needing anything in return. He knew how to fix and take care of literally everything! I will miss seeing him manicuring his immaculate yard, I will miss our chats while walking our dog, Max. He would always stop to get a pet from Peter, if fact, he would not leave until that happened. Peter gave my youngest son a fishing rod he no longer used, the week before Peter passed, he caught a huge pike, big enough to eat for dinner! Mary Anne, Allison, Kelly and family, we extend to you our deepest sympathy for the loss of a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, neighbour and friend. Sending you all love and light.

Maryanne and Family; So sad to hear of Peter's sudden passing...He was my Grandpa Milt and Grandma Edna's best neighbour(She thought he looked like Tom Selleck). Peter and MaryAnne were always there for Edna after Milt passed away. Peter gave me my first real job at his Home Hardware store in Byron when I was 15 yrs old! Although I moved on to Toronto and haven't seen him in over 35 yrs....I will never forget his infectious laugh, big smile and huge capacity for kindness. He was always a family man and hard worker. He believed in me as an awkward teenager and taught me SO much in those early years. A true mentor. I regret that we never reconnected over the years. All my love to you Maryanne. Rest In Peace Peter.

~ Jeff Brinkert
