It is with love and great sadness that the family of James (Jim or Jak) Alan Kersey announces his sudden passing on Sunday, December 20, 2020. Survived by his daughter, Melissa Kersey; granddaughters, Mercedes and Ciara Maloney; siblings, Susan (Stephen) King, Donald Kersey, Paul (Salud) Kersey, and Sandra (William) Terry. Predeceased by his loving parents Reverend Edward and Marian Kersey (née Johnson). Industrious and eager from his earliest days, Jim was a mechanic, a carpenter, a craftsman, a problem solver, a baker, a gardener, a campfire man, and a Jeopardy master. He had a way with numbers and some might say he was a “JAK” of all trades. His humour and kindness will truly be missed by all that knew him. A private Celebration of Life will be conducted at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. The family welcomes friends to view the service via livestream.

Marg and I send our deepest condolences to Jim's family. We have had many conversations with Jim in 447 Wing and found him to be a very interesting man with many topics to discuss and we always walked away with learning something new each time. I met Jimmy at Cindora auto He was their mechanic. We introduced each other.When he said Kersey; I told him our Church Minister's name was Kersey. He performed our Wedding ceremony on October 21, 1967. Jimmy also had a trailer in the same park as our daughter and we would see him there when we visited the park. Jim and I would meet at the 447 Wing in Mount Hope, where we were both members. We enjoyed lots of conversation and good laughs over the years. As a friend, I will miss Jimmy very much and the good times we shared.

Our memories of Jim are from our late teens and early twenties. The wonderful fun times we shared. Jim was family. We often would play cards or spend Saturdays just being together. Eugene remembers how Jim showed him how to do body work on an old car we had at the time. Nothing was so heartwarming than to hear Jim's laughter. Our condolences to his family at this time. Jim has always been in our hearts.
Our condolences to all the family members and friends of Jim. We had the pleasure of knowing him for 3 years at Willow Lake. Such a friendly man who was always waving and chatting with us, every time we walked by. His friendly smile, wave and words will be missed in our park.

Saddened to hear of Jim's passing, I've sat in the bar stool beside him many times over the past few years at 447, and sat at a campfire with him at Willow Lake. His company, comraderie, and conversation will be missed by Lise and I.
