My condolences to Mike's family I knew Mike from the East London Oldtimers hockey league, where he stopped many a shot while playing goal. Later, he and Jay ruled the ice, fairly and in good humour, while wearing their stripped jerseys and blowing whistles. He (and Jay) helped mightily to make the league as much fun as it was (and, hopefully, still is.) Besides his on-ice prowess, Mike was a skilled caricaturist, a talent he put to good use at the league's annual dinner. He was a truly memorable individual and will be much missed. -- Colin

Diane and I offer our condolences to Sharon, Jay and all of Mike's family. Mike was always kind, friendly and smiling whenever you seen him. I have a caricature drawing Mike drew of me many years ago at a hockey tournament that I will treasure for life. Mike was a great person and will be missed by many. You are all in our thoughts and prayers....Gary and Diane

The London Senior Hockey League extends condolences to Sharon, Jay and family. Mike was an outstanding hockey goaltender, teammate and friend. Mike was one of a kind as a player. He was always so positive and encouraging no matter what the score. Many hockey friends were gifted with Mike's artistic drawings and caricatures. These works are treasured memories of a time when we were a step or two faster. Mike was a member of our hockey league for many years following an extensive career in London and Middlesex County. We were blessed to share this game we love with such a gentle and friendly man. Keep your stick on the ice. You will be missed.

~ John Hayton

I was very sad to hear of Mike's passing. I was closely associated with Mike during his many years at the 3M company in London. He worked in the art dept. for many years and later on he transferred to the Commercial Graphics Division. His main responsibility was developing graphic renderings for corporate customers....but many people will remember Mike for his caricatures!! I'm sure that many people throughout Canada have framed caricatures of themselves that were created by Mike. Mike was a fun loving guy who never had a negative comment about anyone. He will be missed,

~ Robert Huxley

I've had the pleasure of calling Mike a friend for almost 40 years. I first met Mike shortly after he left the corporate world at 3M to make a living from his passion for art. Mike was a one of the most genuine, kind, wise, generous and talented people I have ever met. He had many interests and passions which we shared and he made all our chats that much more interesting with his sage views, amusing anecdotes and his philosophy on life. For a man, with as much talent as he had he was very humble and lacked any ego and although the last 30 years I have lived abroad we always kept in touch by phone, email and I visited him often when I came back to Canada to visit. I can't say enough about Mike he was very much a positive influence on my life over the years and I will miss him greatly. Rest in peace my blessed friend - until we meet again. My sincere and heartfelt condolences to his family. Love, Sal

Our condolences to Mike's family and friends on his passing. Mike and Bill had been friends for about 60 years and shared so many good times together. Although there would be gaps between visits the friendship remained steady as Mike would always remember to call Bill on his birthday, possibly reminded as Bill is a Leap Year baby. Many good times were shared and more recently were the boys camping trips at Fanshawe Conservation area. We will miss Mike. He was a kind and caring individual and a true friend.
