Our deepest sympathies to Cheryl and Jeff and all your family on the deep loss of such a wonderful and precious Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma. How comforting to know that she is with Jesus and that you will see her again in Heaven. Praying that God would strengthen you and fill you with His peace.

Dear Lyle and Cheryl, You will remember me as a teenage piano student who studied with your mother in Bracebridge in the late 1960's and early '70's when Dwight was still in diapers and Lynn was a new member to your family. Mrs. Habermehl was extremely talented and I wish I had worked harder for her! Nevertheless, she gave me the foundation to graduate with a B.A. Honours Music from Western University in London. Subsequently, I had a career in telecommunications while raising a family in Toronto. We lost my mother, Grace Goltz, in 2019 at the age of 88. Currently, I care for my father, Mel age 95, in his home west of Bracebridge. I am sorry that you lost your father earlier. He always had a smile for everyone. Your parents left a wonderful legacy of grandchildren. May God continue to bless you all. Love, Linda

Dear Lyle, Cheryl, Dwight and Lynn & families So many wonderful memories of spending time with your family while waiting for my turn to have my lesson with your mom... be it in Bracebridge, Utterson or Dwight - a wonderful woman and an amazing music teacher. Mrs. Habermehl was immeasurably patient with me, who aspired to be a singer but didn't have the self-discipline to apply myself! I distinctly remember travelling to Western with her for my audition to the Faculty of Music. I was a nervous wreck and she was a pillar of strength for me. What a long, strange road ... after being accepting into the music program, I transferred out of if after a year and went on to become a teacher (elementary and secondary, and due to your mother's influence, taught elementary music for a number of years), and then later a principal... now retired. I have thought of your mom (and the rest of you) so many times over the years and am sorry that I didn't try to get in touch to tell her how things turned out for me. She had such an interest in all of her students. So sorry for the loss of you mother and, belatedly, sorry for the loss of your father. Regardless of our age, once we lose our parents, we feel a little like orphans for a bit. You were so very blessed to have such wonderful parents who filled your home with love, music and faith. Thinking of you all during this time, but know that your faith will sustain you all during this sad time. Cathy

Cheryl and family: Just read about your mom (and your dad) in the Huntsville Forester. She was a lovely lady and your dad was such a gentlemen. I enjoyed their visits to the pharmacy. They both had smiles, laughter, and humour not far from their lips. I also remember that music was so important to her. From my mother, Susan Cassie: I appreciated knowing Marie as a lovely friend for all the years she gave our daughter Ruth such amazing musical instruction. Both my parents valued & enjoyed their friendships with Marie & Gord. Marie was first my piano and singing teacher, and swiftly became a friend, another cherished mother-figure to me. She enriched my life so tremendously. We shed many tears together, I gave her practice for patience, and we shared much laughter and awe. I gave thanks for her when I played rock and roll across Europe, and I give thanks for her when I play hymns for the Anglican parishes I am a member of, and when I lit my voice in grief/love/praise. I can hear Marie sing, It Is Well With My Soul, as clear as day. Blessings, and my condolences to all the Habermehl family.
