Nora Avis Spence

Nora passed, as a result of complications of COVID-19, on Friday, January 15, 2021, at Middlesex Terrace, Delaware, at the age of 97. Eldest daughter of Avis and Harry Ubelacker, of Grand Bend, Nora was predeceased by husbands, Alec Young and James Spence, and her sisters, Helen Kneale and Sara Graham. Loved by many nieces and nephews, stepchildren and grandchildren. Nora was an avid golfer, which she continued to play into her mid 90’s, winning championships at several clubs over her lifetime. Other passions included spending time on Lake Huron, sailing with Jim, or attending family functions in Beach O’ Pines, Grand Bend. Her love of all animals gave her great joy and comfort. No memorial service will be held and interment will occur at a later date at Exeter Public Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, Nora and her family would ask that consideration be given for donations to the Humane Society London & Middlesex (>www.hslm.ca). Arrangements entrusted to Westview Funeral Chapel.

Our family sends our deepest sympathies to your family. Our family all knew Nora from being members at Craigowan. Her enthusiasm for the game was never ending as seen from her continued playing the game well into her 90's. She was always a pleasure to play with. My Mother Doreen always enjoyed playing with her in the ladies league. Lots of fond memories. Our thoughts are with your family. The Parkes Family
