Passed away peacefully, at Victoria Hospital on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at the age of 83. Beloved husband of Thelma, for 58 years. Cherished father of Jillian Jones (Steve) and John Pittendreigh (April). Proud Papa of Caroline Jones, Maxwell Pittendreigh, and Dylan Pittendreigh. Ian will be missed by many dear cousins and friends. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Monday, March 15, 2021 at 2:00 p.m., with visitation from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. The family welcomes friends to view the service via livestream. Registration is required to attend the visitation, service or to view the livestream.

A tough time for sure, but the memories last forever and those are what will keep us close to those we've lost. I feel lucky to have met your father (grandfather, father in-law) and will hold that memory close.

It was a great joy to know and help Ian and Thelma for well over 20 years and 3 pharmacies. His smile was infectious and he had a great sense of humour. Over the years I got to meet other family members and I extend my sympathy to all of you. Thanks for the memories my friend.
I am so sorry to learn of Ian's passing. Ian was a kind, caring, gentle man with a wonderful sense of humour. While my my husband was ill and after his death, Ian's daily e-mails of funny stories and interesting topics started my day laughing. I will miss him. May he rest in peace. We were sorry to learn of Ian's passing. Ian was one of the first to welcome us when we moved into the neighbourhood. We always enjoyed our chats with him. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.
I also knew Ian from Goodlife. He tended to present as very serious, but once you began talking to him, he would break out in the most wonderful smile, and he had a delightful sense of humor. I once jokingly asked him about this "contradiction" and he said "well, would you trust someone who smiled all the time?" Rest in peace, my friend.

April, I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Ian. I knew Ian from Goodlife and was always amazed at his dedication to the gym. I did not connect that he was your father-in-law. He will be missed so much by all of us that joked around with him during our workouts. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
