Doreen Taleski

June 27, 2021

97 years old, passed peacefully on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Riverview Gardens, in Chatham Ontario. Predeceased by her husband, Arthur (Art), her daughter Laurie, and sisters Enid and Norma. Loved mother of Jim and Linda, Peter and Cindy, Nancy and Ron Schindler. Beloved grandma of Craig, Mark and wife Christine. Proud great-grandmother to Summer, Georgia and Cole. Also survived by her loving sister Ruth and husband Bill Winegarden. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, family members and friends, especially Evelyn Scott.

Doreen was born in London, Ontario, a city which she loved and always considered her home. She was an avid reader and enjoyed reading books and keeping up with current events in the London Free Press. You would always find Doreen curled up in her arm chair with a book or two on the go. She loved reminiscing through albums and digital photos of her family which she also proudly displayed in her home. She also loved sharing memories from her past and stories during the war times. She was lovingly remembered for her brown sugar shortbread cookies and pecan butter ball cookies. She had a great sense of humour and a contagious laugh, which endeared her to her family and her caregivers.

Our family would like to extend our deep appreciation for the care of our Mother. We wish to thank Dr. Stephen Jones and Riverview Gardens who went above and beyond to provide her with compassionate care, making her as comfortable as possible over these last difficult months. We will be forever thankful to the staff that held her hand and provided comfort in her last hour. God bless you all. Following cremation, a private family graveside ceremony will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in London, Ontario. Mom we will love and miss you.

Doreen, you were always a special aunt to me. We had a connection only we could understand. I could talk to you about anything and you would listen. The early years are what I remember best and choose to keep those thoughts close to me. Rest In Peace. I hope you are walking with Laurie, Art, Enid and Norma now. Love you.❤️
