Harry Thomas Dickson
June 28, 2021
It is with broken hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Harry Thomas Dickson on Monday, June 28, 2021, at the too-early age of 66. Harry passed away peacefully after a valiant battle with cancer.
Beloved son of the late Keith and Loretta Dickson. Harry is survived by his loving wife and partner of 31 years, Marilyn FitzGerald; and her children, Matthew FitzGerald (Melanie) and Laurie Guthrie (Will). Cherished Papa of Bridgette, Brayden and Emma.
Predeceased by his brother, Alan Dickson (Pat); his son, Dr. Mark Dickson (Anna); his brother, Scott Dickson (Gisele); and his children, Leticia Mizon (T.J.), and Brad Dickson (Amy). He will be missed by his great-nephews and great-nieces and Marilyn’s sisters, Barbara Boland, Cathy Leghorn, and their families.
Harry was raised in Lucan, Ontario. He worked for 42 years at Unifin International, from where he retired in 2016. Many longtime friendships were made during his work career. He and Marilyn enjoyed their trailer at Pine Lake Campground, in Bayfield. Harry volunteered his time cutting the grass at the Pine Rock Golf Course. The highlight for his grandkids was to fish with their Papa, go for a golf cart ride and enjoy a never-ending supply of Freezies. Harry will always be remembered as caring, thoughtful, and most of all, a kind man.
We wish to thank the staff at the LHSC – London Regional Cancer Program, the 7th and 10th floors at University Hospital, Alexandra Marine and General Hospital in Goderich, and lastly, Dr. Henry Chapeskie for the care and compassion they provided.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London. A private Celebration of Life will be conducted on Saturday, July 10, 2021. Registration is required to attend the visitation.
