With Loving family by her side, Mary, beloved wife for 60 years of the late Edward (2014), passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 18, 2021, at University Hospital, London. Mary was formerly a long-time resident of Windsor. Survived by her children: Edward (Heather), of Amherstburg, ON; Kathryn Debevc, of London, ON; Caroline (Doug) Minne, of Stoney Creek, ON; Thomas (Melissa), of Chatham, ON; and Teresa (George) Cantalini, of Edmonton, AB. Cherished grandmother of Adam, Kelly, Jennifer, Mathew, Serena, John, Susan, and Mark; great-grandmother of Michael and Ivy. Dear sister of Fred Smith (Anita McLean) (late Ann, 2007); and Edward (Barbara) Smith. Predeceased by her parents, Thomas (1955) and Florence (1985) Smith; and her brother Thomas Smith (2000) (Louise Kelly) (late Olga, 2018). Mary was a dedicated Maycourt volunteer and a CWL member for many years. The family would like to thank the kind care that our mom received at Richmond Woods, especially her caregiver, Sandra. All who knew mom appreciated that she was game for any outing or activity and a special “shout out” goes to the recreation team at Richmond Woods. Special thanks to Gerry Saby and JoAnn King who remained steadfast friends to mom. Thanks also to the kind, compassionate care given by the nurses and doctors of the surgical and ICU teams at University Hospital in London, who valiantly tried to extend mom’s life, some of you were a “real pain in the neck”. We are eternally grateful. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Parish, 511 Cheapside Street, London on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, London. My deepest sympathy's goes out to the entire Debevc family. Mrs. Debevc knew how lucky she was to have the love and support of her family during even the most difficult times. She was devoted to her church and listen to service and prayed even in her sleep. She was spirited and uplifted by the kindness and gestures of the good people around her who cared for her. Mrs. Debevc enjoyed the simply pleasures in life and recalled wonderful memories in her life! My heart is heavy today and days to come but I know we will find peace in the lovely memories we shared together!

~ Sandra

We extend our most sincere condolences to Mary's family. She was a valued member of May Court and her service was greatly appreciated. She will be fondly remembered.

Dear Katheryn my deepest condolences to you & your family for your loss. Your mom was such a lovely lady. I remember having her jelly sandwiches with you when we were kids & for one of our Brownie badges we both served our mom's tea & toast at our house. Wishing you much love - Esther.
