Chief Superintendent Norman Georges (Retired) Mazerolle

It is with deep sadness, that after a prolonged illness, Norm Mazerolle passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side, in his 67th year, in London, Ontario on Tuesday, July 20th, 2021. Beloved husband of Jeanne (Moar) Mazerolle for almost 35 years. Loving father of Scott Mazerolle (Bonnie Skinner), Andrew Mazerolle (Tina), William Moar (Nicole Martini), and Michel Mazerolle (Chloe Trinh). Adored grandfather of Liam, Ella, and Hunter. Dear son of Joyce Mazerolle and the late Rheal Mazerolle (1999). Missed by siblings, Patrick Mazerolle (Gwendolyn), Alfred Mazerolle (Lorraine), Suzanne Latulippe and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Will be deeply missed by his K9 companion, Delta.

Norm joined the RCMP in 1976 and served for 39 years in various RCMP divisions throughout Canada and also overseas in Kabul, Afghanistan. He was the recipient of the Order of Merit of the Police Forces, the 125th anniversary of the Confederation of Canada Medal and the RCMP Long Service Medals.

At Norm’s request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Norm, to Diabetes Canada, Save the Children Federation, Inc. (savethechildren.org), or a charity of ones choosing would be greatly appreciated.

Norm was man of integrity. I enjoyed our many private conversations during my time in ‘O’ Division Criminal Operations-London HQ. I related fondly to Norm’s dry sense of humour. His compassion for others will be forever remembered. Thank you Norm.

I am very sadden to hear of the passing of Norm. It was a pleasure to work with Norm at London HQ. I use to run the Food Drive for London HQ each Christmas. Norm and Jeanne were extremely generous with their donations. They would come in with a cart full of food donations each year. Even after Norm retired they continued to support the Food Bank. Norm was one of a kind. Looks like a tough guy from the outside, but inside a heart of gold. My deepest sympathy and condolences to the family.

I have many happy memories of Norm. He would come into my office to chat usually about a new gizmo for his car or something for the Division. He had a great sense of humour and was a good leader.
