Marjorie Priscilla (nee Atkinson) Mitchell
September 23, 2021
Peacefully with family, by her side, at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, on Thursday, September 23, 2021, in her 84th year. Beloved wife of Ernest William (Bill) Mitchell for 57 years. Loving mother of Stephen and Peter. Adored grandmother of Ashley, Hope, Lucy, and Hannah. Predeceased by siblings, Martha and Gordon.
Born in Peterborough, Ontario, our dearest Marjorie came of age in Shelburne, Nova Scotia, the place of her family’s deep roots. A good student, she went on to a career in banking through which she met the young Mr. Mitchell, a sailor stationed at the Canadian Navy’s local base. From there her family life bloomed. It was a life where she was a constantly encouraging and loving presence in the lives of husband, sons, and extended family. Marjorie was a fan of crime dramas, classic films, orchestral music, and travel adventures with family. She was also a keen, lifelong learner and was curious about everything. An environmental activist long before it was mainstream, she was passionate about leaving a better world behind her.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Sunday, October 24, 2021 between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

My deepest condolences Bill, Steve, Peter and family. Marjorie was a very kind and caring person who will be missed by many. She was a great conversationalist and story teller, as I had the privilege to hear all about Nova Scotia and Peterborough. I know that her family was very important to her. Marjorie will never be forgotten by those who had the pleasure of knowing her, including myself.
