Arthur ‘Art’ Borho

April 10, 1934 - March 6, 2022

Peacefully passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Victoria Hospital, London, following recent weeks of health challenges.

A man of deep faith, Art loved working outside. This began in his long-time Kitchener community, taking the “bicycle” over to help out neighbours with their yards, followed by years at Leanne’s place where no task was too large or too small. The past five years brought him to London’s Ashwood Manor retirement home where the excellent staff and kind residents came to know him as the hat guy who played the harmonica and enjoyed sharing a good joke.

Art leaves behind his beloved daughter and “Tweety” Leanne (Robert Cape) and grandbird Ambrose; his siblings Phil (Gloria) Borho, Phyllis (Bruce) Nicholson, Bill (Joan) Borho and Robert (Sharon) Borho; godchildren Janet Weiler, Lisa Borho, and Jamie Borho; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his dear wife Marlene (Missère) of 47.5 years; his parents Herbert and Lavina (Zimmer) Borho; and siblings Eldora (Harold) Weiler and Lucille Borho.

Heartfelt thanks to Leanne’s fantastic friends, colleagues and family whose support has been invaluable. Special thanks to the LHSC staff and the nurses in particular for their compassionate care.

Family and friends will be received at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road, London on Thursday, March 10, 2022 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., with prayers at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 11, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at St. George Parish, 1164 Commissioners Road, London. Burial will be held at a later date at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Mildmay, Ontario.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, to the Alzheimer Society Waterloo Wellington or Salthaven Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Centre would be appreciated by the family.

Leanne-my sincere condolences to you and your family on the passing of your Dad. I only knew your mom and dad for a few years but am blessed that our paths crossed when they did. I was glad that I was around when you brought him back for a visit a few years ago. May he rest in peace.

~ Brian Madill

It's with deep regret hear that Art has passed, he and Marlene were great friends of my mom and dad and we spend a lot of time with them and Leanne as kids, when the came to Mildmay on the weekend or holidays, Art had a wonderful sense of humor and loved a good joke and and good laugh, they are both dearly missed, cherish the good memories as I will, rest in piece Art with Marlene, and dad will be waiting for a game of cards!
