It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of their beloved mother, mother-in-law and grand-mother Cornelia Tapalaga on Friday, July 8, 2022, at the age of 71.
Beloved wife for 40 years of the late Luca Tapalaga, cherished mother of Cornelia (loan) and Lucia (Dan) and devoted grandmother of Paul, Victor, George and Peter. She will be deeply missed by all of us, including her family in Romania and her friends.
Our mother was born in Boianu Mare, Bihor, Romania, where she grew up with loving parents and five siblings. She is predeceased by her parents Vasile and Floare, siblings (Ioan and Vasile) and daughter Rodica. She loved children, as her life revolved around her children and grandchildren. Mother lived for us and for her husband. She was a very kind, sweet person, and wherever she went everyone loved her sunny disposition.
Mother was a fabulous cook of fine cuisine and in addition to our daily meals, she offered us fabulous family dinners, as well as holiday and birthday celebrations. Distinguished and elegant, Mother was respected by all who knew her, just as she respected and cherished everyone she knew. She was selfless and was always ready to help others.
A beautiful person, surrounded by friends and family, she loved going to church and being part of the community in London, Ontario, where she lived for 20 years. Mother lost the love of her life, her husband, in 2007. They were a beautiful couple, who loved each other dearly. They are now together, once again.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 10, 2022 and Monday, July 11, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where a funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the LHSC – University and Victoria Hospital, the Cancer Clinic, St. Elizabeth and Parkwood Institute for their wonderful support and care on her fierce fight with cancer.

Mamă, încă nu-mi vine să cred că ai plecat. Ai auzit șoapta lui Dumnezeu, chemându-te acasă, nu ai vrut să ne părăsești. Sunt martor cât de înverșunat te-ai luptat cu boala ta. Ne-ai iubit atât de mult încât te-ai ținut strâns, până când ți-au dispărut toate puterile și nu ai mai putut să ții. În cele din urmă, ți-ai dat mâna lui Dumnezeu și ai scăpat în liniște. Mulțumesc, mamă, că ești cea mai uimitoare mamă și bunica. Te vom iubi și te vom adora pentru tot ce ne-ai învățat în viață. Moartea ta a luat bucurie din viețile noastre, dar ne vom păstra amintirile frumoase din vremurile petrecute cu tine. Ne este dor de tine mai mult ca oricând. Până ne revedem, odihnește-te în pace Dragă Mamă!
Mother, I still can’t believe you are gone. You heard God’s whisper, calling you home, you did not want to leave us. I witness how fiercely you fought with your illness. You loved us sooo much that you held on tight, until all your strength was gone, and you could no longer hold on. Finally, you gave your hand to God and slipped away quietly. Thank you, mom, for being the most amazing mom and grandma. We will forever love and adore you for everything you taught us in life. Your death took away joy from our lives, but we will hold on to the beautiful memories of times spent with you. We miss you more than ever. Until we meet again, rest in peace Dear Mother!
Dear Lia, Luci and family Please accept my sincere condoleances while I'm grieving along side with you.You are in my prayers. Tanti Cornelia will remain in my memory most of all for being a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother as well as an amazing cook and hostess.I will cherish her food receipes now more than ever. Cornelia was always with a smile on her face. She loved life and created positive energy around her. We will miss her dearly and will always cherish her memories. Our deep condolences to the family. May she rest in peace.
